  1. Nice job Mike! Thanks for taking the time to update this.I'm interested in building a 1/32 Blk60 'F' and was digging around for build references and stumbled across yours.I know your building an 'E' ,but there is pretty good info in your thread.Glad your going to finish it!
  2. My wallet really, really didn't need to know this idea was being discussed....

  4. Very nice work Bruce! Very interesting project!
  5. Very nice!! It would be the centerpiece of my display!
  6. Looks awesome Matt... I really should get one of those kits.It looks like most of the re-scribing was straight lines? Curved lines are why I havn't tried it yet!
  7. Looks good... I'm really fighting the urge to go buy one for myself!
  8. Ditto on your work....good stuff!! I think the plates are made by Crossdelta?

  12. Awesome work Barry! Your work makes my eyes water! But I hate the thought of tossing my BB and Verlinden cockpits in the trash! LOL!
  13. Thanks Allok.... I appreciate you pulling that up for me.I tried to find it before I started another thread, but as you can see,I didn't have any luck. Thanks again! Full Afterburner.... Scot M.
  14. Thanks for the comment Mike.I used Mike Grant's jet instrument decals in 1/32 and 1/72.But you could get away with using his 1/48 scale decals in place of the 1/32 ,as they are just a smidge too big.I hope that helps you out! Take care.... Full Afterburner.... Scot M.
  15. I had another cockpit almost complete for this but I decided to start over.(Yeah I know!!)But I have to say I think it will be well worth the extra work. After doing more research, I decided to paint the second cockpit a base color of Dark Ghost Grey.I know alot of people will strongly disagree with that decision...but I will post a pic of the real deal to prove my point. This is the WSO's seat.If you look at the fuse panel to his left you will notice that that area where the fuses are, is a lighter color. So if the standard cockpit color for American Fighter jets is Dark Gull Grey......which to me looks like the area SURROUNDING the panel. Then what color is the panel itself? Here is a pic of the Pilot's IP.Compare the panel color to the color of the cockpit sidewalls.... Since I started this project,Eduard came out with some new photo-etched sets for the 1/32 F-15E Which I used in combination with some Mike Grant instrument decals. My older one is on the left which was painted Dark Gull Grey. The new one is on the right.I'm not completely done with it though.I still have to add the screens to the MFD's and I ordered a set of Mike Grant decals in 1/72 scale to finish off some of the smaller instruments. And here is a pic of the landing gear handle (which was scratchbuilt) and one of the photo-etch pieces. I think it turned out much better. The details are alot crisper and more defined. But I'll let you be the judge.... More to come.... Full Afterburner.... Scot M.
  16. Thanks for the comment Rookie! For those not aware... Avionix has changed their name....no less than 3 times in the last 14 months or so.My comment above was a little tongue in cheek jab at them. But I thought I would add a little tip/help here for anyone that is going to use this set in the future.... I found the instructions a little vague when it came time to add the peice that goes under the WSO's IP shroud.... On the WSO's tub there are cut outs made for this piece but it is not clear in the instructions.I marked the slots black in the photo: And here is a pic of how it is supposed to fit.I had to sand the bottom of the grey part quite a bit to get it to set flush with the surrounding area... Now that I am satisfied with the fit...I am going to see what I can improve upon as far as detailing is concerned. Stay tuned!
  17. I know I would buy at least one conversion.....maybe two. This is something that I believe would make a manufacturer a TON of money.... It's a travesty no one has felt the need to step up and attempt to market this to all of us.
