  1. Ahh now I see that the P-51 has "Shangri-la" written over it so that plan failed... Anyone know of decals for this bird ?
  2. Was the boxing eagle on the nose the same as on the well known P-51 ? I cannot find any decals for that bird and am thinking of getting decals for the P-51 and use the bird...
  3. I cannot find a place where it is for sale... anyone know of a place, preferably within the EU ?
  4. I'm thinking if Revell are casting the kits themselves or subcontract. It could likely be a priority problem where they run the stocks up and switch to another mould... And if they did a P-51B I'd go broke
  5. Beautiful work - very very nice finish and weathering
  6. As mentioned earlier, I'm on a 'cover as many nationalities from WWII as possible' trip these days. The air forces involved were relatively few, but other nationalities in the 'normal' airforces are good too. So,,, this it Fred Ohr, born from Korean immigrant parents, who made a career in USAAF. Ohr is credited with 6 victories and 17 destoryed on the ground. Kit is Tamiya almost oob - Resin wheels replace the rubber ones, barracuda cockpit stencils. All main markings are painted on with homemade masks (stencils from kits).
  7. THAT is one great looking Ki-84 - super job. And SO good to se a japanese plane that's not chipped to death
  8. If you are on facebook, then I suggest joining up in this group. Very active https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheCuttingEdgeModelersGroup I have a Silhouette Portrait, but I must admit that I have not been keeping up with hardware since I bought it quite some years ago. As for drawing, I use CAD software almost exclusively as most masks - mine at least - are very geometrical. CAD does take a little practice but I find it very good to do masks with exactly the size I want. You can find free CAD online - such as DraftSight. Export in dxf and it can be opened directly in the Silhouette software (sometimes you need to scale it) Except for very small lettering (stencils etc) I do all on the Portrait.
  9. Wow - lovely, superb result !! Cool with the replacement wing
  10. Try it on a spare transparent part... I would suppose that everything that can be applied and then dries up in the air can be corrupted by a not completely sealed container. I know that my Vallejo primer is susebtible to this but then I open them frequently so new air gets in...
  11. Cannot say about accuracy, but I enjoyed the build a lot - but it's a huge bugger
  12. Wow what a fantastic build... and that is coming from a non-jet guy !!! Superb detail, paint job and weathering...
  13. Oh do I agree 110% !!!! Only the Hasegawa F around - often difficult to find and a liiiiittle long in the tooth. The Trump non-F I won't even mention... So why a G ??? sigh Apart from that I understand early 190's are in this so that's good. And as mentioned... bring us that P-51B !!!
  14. Thanks a lot I liked the kit - only thing I dont like is the rubber wheels but that is easily fixed. I added a photoetch cockpit because it came with when I bought the kit from a friend, but anyway I always put in resin or photoetch cockpits apart from Tamiya kits :-) I added HGW belts too - I really like those
  15. So I had to try a Finnish 109... they do look fantastic in those colors, and I think MT-213 is the best of that lot
  16. Not too good at posting my finished work - I guess I'm moving on as soon as they are done :-) A well known bird from the famous Stuka Escort series of pictures
