  1. Hi, I did read awhile back it was discribed as close to FS 34227, looks close to that bottom picture. http://www.testors.com/product/0/4739/_/Pale_Green__FS34227_Acryl_%28F%29-_12_oz._Bottle The other pictures shown seem to have that blue-green aotake finish.
  2. Very nice shots, thanks for the update! May the PTO aircraft builders rejoice! Left my George alone for now, but finishing up Revell's Jack. As expected, Hasegawa's Raiden looks to be a big improvement looking at pics. Cockpit detail looks like a huge improvement, Revell did do a nice job with its Mitsubishi Kasei considering its age, one nice detail are the new engine push rods are not that strange "Y" now. New molding also really shows up in that figure. The Undercarrage badly needed an update, wish shots were included, as old kit suffers from really basic molding. Still like the way Revell molded the fabric surface detail on old kit(although many feel it was overdone). Clear parts also look to be much improved over nasty old thick ones. Spent quite a bit of time with numerous fit issues on the Revell. Ease of assembly with correct fit should improve a great deal with Hasegawa's new offering, also not dealing with forty year old decals is a plus too. Early sprue shots might change from released kit, as model 21 was equipped with four 20mm in wings, and didn't carry fuselage guns. I might be wrong, I just don't recall seeing any pictures of gun trough's on the Type 21 cowling ? (if that's what is the on the cowling shot). Also give three big cheers for that new one piece cowling (separate cooling flaps with poor fit are a pain)as Matty mentioned! Going by the box art, looks like Hasegawa has also chosen same decals as Revell's kit-nice selection. All in all the ageing Revell was still a fun build, and looking forward to the release of the new kit with all it's improved features. September release in states? Now bring on that new George! Cheers, Dave
  3. I'd sure try and get some of Jerry's excellent wheels, but I do recall awhile back a resin outfit called Lonestar carried the 8 spoke wheels.
  4. Hi Chuck, Testers gives us FS numbers, many have said their Enamel 1716, Acrylic 4739, labeled Pale Green FS34227 is close to RAF interior green: http://www.colorserver.net/showcolor.asp?fs=34227
  5. Hi,here are a couple of seated pilots from Hannant's that might work for you: http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/PJ321106 http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/PJ321112
  6. A nice look at PCM's Ta 152C from an earlier post from a LSP member: http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=33682
  7. Thank you for the link raf. Missed that one. Looks like PCM did a nice job. Was the Daimler-Benz DB 603LA the powerplant Tank wanted over the Jumo, with the RLM holding it up, and why? Dave.
  8. From the Pacific Coast Models News Page - Our new 1:32 Focke-Wulf Ta-152C-1 (PCM 32014) is now in stock! We will be current shipping orders this week. The kit looks great!
  9. This would be height of a 6' person in different scale sizes, in inches/centimeters: in. cm. 1/24- 3.00 7.62 1/32- 2.25 5.71 1/35- 2.06 5.22 Using a 1/24 6'(3.00in)scale figure in 1/32 would covert to 8 ft. tall. Using a 1/35 6'(2.06in)scale figure in 1/32 would convert to 5'-6" tall. Dave
  10. 11. Check out a review of the CB Model Products Wheel Sander, by Scott Van Aken over at Modeling Madness: http://modelingmadness.com/scotts/accessories/wheelsander.htm
  12. This is great news! Folks which never got around to acquire the Revell offering the past 40yrs or so now can purchase a new mold kit at favorite hobby shop, no doubt with aftermarket accessories, online builds and articles soon to follow. The Raiden was important to the Japanese, with a interesting history, starting off with assigning head of development for the project to the man who gave them their Zero. Trying to intercept the B-29 along with the excellent P-51/P-47, was darn near impossible, but brave Japanese gave it their best shot, many in the Raiden. Discussion about how relevant recently released kits such as the J7W1Shinden/Ta152 were to the war effort, but increased interest, excellent online builds followed their releases. I would expect the same for the Raiden. I too am awaiting the release of a Val/Kate,yet as more Bf109's and Spitfires roll out from other manufactures, also unforgivable? Thanks, Dave.
  13. Wow! Now that Ki-61-II Kai was one good lookin ride! The Japanese really got their moneys worth out of the orignal version. Now, which AlleyCat version to get...somehow must get all Thanks, Dave.
  14. Hi Jerry, Thanks for the reply on RLM 02. Did some checking on the FS 24226 you felt was a good match, found FS 34226 was very close to it: http://www.colorserver.net/showcolor.asp?fs=24226+34226 FS 34226 is available in Pollyscale as British Interior Gray Green: http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/flo/flof505270.htm?source=froogle Thanks, Dave.
  15. Hi Jerry, when this thread brought up RLM 02, it reminded me a question I've had for some time. It seems I've seen that color displayed in different shades/color. Along with many different opinions on the internet. Different shades of gray-green- http://www.colorserver.net/showcolor.asp?fs=16165+34159 http://www.testors.com/product/0/2071/_/Grau_RLM_02_%28SG%29_MM_-_12_oz._Bottle To a LifeColor light green- https://airbrushes.com/product_info.php?products_id=2707&osCsid=1a7773527c9d2531000ad571d69767e4 The now discontinued 505075-Polly Scale RLM 02,looking it used very little green- http://www.jbwholesalers.com.au/pollyscale/images/polly%20scale%20military%20acrylic%20colors.pdf Any of these in the ballpark? What one would you lean towards? As the war wound down to the end , the importance to interior paint color much less of an important issue for the Luftwaffe, differences occurred? Thanks, Dave
  16. This is great reading! Best forum on the net. I have been trying to understand all the various props used discussed earlier, Nick mentioned that Jerry C. added earlier that the Ta152 had the VS9 blades. Are the metal Pacific Coast Blades correct? Or do they look like VS9 blades just mislabeled? http://www.pacmodelscatalog.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PCM&Product_Code=GFM+32008A&Category_Code= What was the difference between the VS9 and VS111? Thanks, Dave
  17. Surprised to read the replies regarding the announced upcoming release. At least not yet another Spitfire/BF109! Although not sporting the lines of the sleek racers, I've thought the Raidens odd design interesting, as its history. In her end another fruitless attempt to throw against the B-29.No cute riddles to interpret from this company, the ease of availability of the Hasegawa product from favorite LHS quickly will be very nice.
  18. Wow, nice find! Lets hope more suppliers step up and use this marketing strategy. Bad economy has to hurt their sales too. Lowball a few items, browse around, and pick up a couple more items with the order. Dave
  19. Hi Steve, PJ Productions also has produced a number of 32nd scale modern pilot figures, available thru their website, and Hannants http://www.pjproduction.net/product/321112-german-f-4-pilot/ http://www.pjproduction.net/product/321106...vy-pilot-80-90/ Dave
  20. I haven't run across any Tony's which have been described as black. Japanese colors are open up to much debate, even records from the home island are hard to find, and color language translation can be tricky. Samples of original relics are weathered and degraded, and black and white photos of a dark color isn't much help either. A dark green might fit, even a dark olive/brown. I also ran across a Ki-61 described as chocolate brown- if dark enough, and dirty, on a cloudy day, close to looking like a faded black? Anyway,Good luck on your journey into the Japanese aircraft colors of WW2! Dave Check out j-aircraft.com, has a ton if interesting research: http://www.j-aircraft.com/faq/army_message_board.htm
  21. Thanks Nick, very interesting article! What the RAF do with it after studying it? Wonder if any of these old relics ended up in someones storage (on the hush).
  22. The Boeing EA-18G Growler is an American carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft, a specialized version of the two-seat F/A-18F Super Hornet. Great Models taking Pre-Orders. (Haven't found a release date, although some sites have reported early 2011). http://www.greatmodels.com/~smartcart/cgi/...tem_num=TSM3206
  23. Hi Joe, you are correct, the B25 Gunship was listed in the link you pointed out. Dave
  24. Are you ready for a gunship: http://store.spruebrothers.com/pre-order-1...003-p24402.aspx
  25. In their newsletter a while back, Great Models even mentioned they were having problems with the Hasegawa line, and inventory/stock would drop. Not sure this happened, seems normal, but something is going on. I do admit for myself Nick, I look at my domestic shops here before abroad, maybe wrongly, I would think shipping would be less expensive for me than something from Asia, dealing with problems might be easier...suspect ZOUKEI-MURA would sell more kits here if available, for similar reasons.
