Another Mossie flies again after 70 years.

Great news, I live on the Wirral and used to see and hear the Hawarden based Mosquito all the time, used to love it, hopefully the Peoples Mosquito project can restore one to the UK skies. Cheers Dennis -

Nice work this is really looking good, I will have to benchmark this thread as it will be super handy when I eventually get around to building my kit. Cheers Dennis -

Yes I have had mixed results with them, for my Tempest build they worked great, the Hurricane ones were probably 99.9% with some tiny bits missing, but the Spitfire IX ones were a disaster, the "carrrier" film came away from the markings rendering them useless, in the end I had to resort to decals. They went into the bin. Here's the full story. Cheers Dennis

I'm also firmly in the enamel club, mainly Humbrol for detail painting (brush), Sovereign Colourcoats and Xtracolor for main finishing as they both are great for airbrushing and give a very nice decal ready finish rather tham mess about with a gloss coat. I also use Testor Model Master enamels as I can still get hold of these and there are colours types that are not in the above ranges, and for some more common colours I use Revell enamels, recently for the blue black cowlings and under canopy areas of Japanese subjects #9 anthracite. I did try Xtracrylix once and although I was happy with the end result the messing about to achieve it was not good, so now I stick to what I know. Plus my stock of paints is really extensive so switching would be silly, I have a dedicated model room with an 8" extractor so smells are not a problem. Cheers Dennis

I have been assembling after market parts for kits in the stash, many of the parts where highlighted in other peoples builds. Must get round to building a Gladiator And just released. The ANZY stuff and the barrels came from a Max build. Plus lots of other YAHU stuff. Cheers Dennis

Tom Probert managed to get Peter at Airscale to sort out his Stirling, maybe if you ask him nicely he will help, it could also be a saleable item. Cheers Dennis
