Perfecto Denis, looks superb.

Was surprised myself. I think it is one of their older kits as they mentioned a problem with size? I do think the layer lines are finer then they look. Will see what a couple coats of primer does to them. I just don't know when I will get to it. I do wish they did the hull without detail; definitely would have been better to have hatches separate so you can position them.

I should add, I have no ill will towards FDM, but the designer should have just built the shell with no detail.
This way the hull could be easily block sanded and then scab on all the SLA parts to a flat surface.

Maybe Tamiya or Aoshima will release an edition including Pete's license plate?

As a Fj-40 and Hilux owner you were already famous.

Or a US low vis option with the small national insignias that don't cover the VG's.
Regarding the NLG, Aeries' landing gear bay set offers up a replacement nose gear with a separate wheel.

I'm thinking of pre-painting filed VGs and then cutting a kinked strip out of the National Insignia decal to match.
Or maybe it's another reason to do an Israeli machine.
Hoping ResKit might tackle the awful Trumpy NLG wheel and Hasegawa re-release the TA-4J kit.

Now for some LST's: large scale tanks. These three are all 1/16th, the Panzer IIIL and SdKfz 251 by Das Werk/Takom and the Tiger I by Andy's/Takom. Note the 251 shows off the detail provided by Das Werk, that is all included. Was surprised they had a category for 1/16th and larger armor!
The most impressive ones were the next two. First, a super-detailed 1/9th German motorcyle:
Lastly, this is an older model by one of the judges, a guy I have known for years except he has always primarily worked in 1/72nd scale. So, it was a surprise to see this one, a 1/15th scale Bergepanther Ausf. D, converted from an old Verlinden Panther A kit. The interior as well as the outer modifications are all scratchbuilt.
That's it!

Absolutely what John the First said. After six of these things in recent years, I can tell you this is by far the easiest way to deal with this issue. Once you’ve touched it up a bit, it will look fine.

I thought long and hard about how to deal with that on my A-4E build last year. First I thinned the vortex generators down with a jewelers file. To me much cheaper and easier than going with aftermarket solutions. Then I simply pushed down the national insignia decal (aftermarket from Furball) and soaked the crap out of it with setting solution. It conformed nicely and the few vortex generators that tore through just needed a bit of touch up paint and they looked fine. 2nd choice would have been to slice off the ones being covered by the decal and carefully reapply and paint. If you use masks, you still have the issue of the mask not settling down nicely on the wing surface.

Or use masks rather than decals...

Or get the reskit replacements that come with a masked template and add them after carefully?

anything radically different though?
will the 2.0 versions host photos for instance?

Agreed - in 1/35 you need to be careful not to loose an eye.. with 1/16, even a small part will knock you out..

Tamiya's 1/16th stuff is not as well detailed, and detail that is there is a bit chunky as it has to survive the rigors of RC use. Concessions are also there to allow for the running gear to work and be serviced. It is also !@#%^& expensive because of the RC stuff. But RC is their bread and butter. So yes, seeing all these static 1/16th models released is a godsend for those of us who like working in the larger scales. I am currently trying to finish off a 1/35th kit and have lost two parts due to tweezer launch. In 1/16th those parts would have been a breeze!

Ditto - always liked the look of the Nashorn with its longer barrel. I am pretty sure that we can expect a complete new and super detailed "gun assembly" from AFV Modeller (even though it will likely cost more than the kit itself ) - and I already know I am going to paint it in a Disc Camo version
Time to start looking for that new house I guess...

Im going to buy the Nahorn! Very cool!!
Did Takom release any kits in 1/16?

Getting harder to resist the 1/16th armor. In an attempt to control my stash, I sold 60+ armor kits, over the last few years. I did keep my 1/25 Tiger I, and Centurion (with Mouse House MkV conversion), as well as my 1/24th Bandai Kingtiger, Panther, Jagdpanther, all interior kits.
Some of this new 1/16 is very tempting though.

Any thought on producing 3 piece transmission cover for the M4a1?

...And the early M3-style suspension to go with it?
We also need the early 75mm barrel M3 with the slight flare at the muzzle...

Maybe a STuG IIIb down the road?
