richdlc
guys - with all the excitement about the new Corsair kit from Tamiya, I thought I would share my collection of reference links built up over several months for my dash 4 build - as a lot of the components remained more or less the same throughout the Corsair's life-span, this should help you detail all the different marks. Kagemusha
Some useful photos, not least the FAA Birdcage which clearly shows it with clipped wings. nmayhew

Have trawled the net and am struggling to find this info - but was it mentioned that they did not?? Many thanks for all the links btw - duly bookmarked! richdlc
no problem guys another great resource for early Corsairs (and accurate colours) is the book 'KD431 The Time Capsule Corsair' about the one at the FAA Musuem, produced in conjunction with the museum itself. Gotta love this bit ... "Those operating in the Pacific theater acquired a specialized British insignia -- a modified blue-white roundel with white "bars" to make it look more like a US than a Japanese insignia to prevent friendly-fire incidents." The USA always had a tag of being a little trigger happy .. made me laugh ... but the poor b*****ds flying 'em wouldn't have been!!!
