BloorwestSiR
Hi folks, I was looking at the instructions on the B-25 kit and it says that everything inside is interior green. Is that correct or is it like the B-17 where different sections are different colours? Also, is it Zinc Chromate Green or something darker? Thanks in advance. Finn
In b&w but you can see the screws/bolts are bright while the rest is a darker colour so it looks like interior green for this one: http://images.google.com/hosted/life/2f0172c578bdea56.html click on the thumbnails under Related images for more pics. titan
This is a tricky question and depends on the variant. According to a B-25J pilot I corresponded with the interior was all one color - green. This matches other references that say Interior Green throughout as well as the inside of a B-25J that I was fortunate enough to crawl around inside of where I could see some of the original paint. However, B-25H models may have been different and B/C/D models were probably dull dark green and yellow zinc chromate. Bombay's were likely natural metal across most models including the H & J. A final note, interior green is a darkish color not the bright light green that Model Master has in their line. Xtracrilix and Mission Models make good interior greens. Finn
Firing buttons for the guns, 75mm and torpedo along with the optical sight, ring and bead sight but what is the what i'm guessing is a timer for? http://www.gstatic.com/hostedimg/60ddf05b6891eda0_large Jari BloorwestSiR
Bill_S
Carl, I use Model Master enamels; interior green is a darker color than zinc chromate green. FS34151 is MM's interior green. Karl H
Per the Maintenance manual, the cockpit was Dull Dark Green while the rest of the interior was tinted Chromate (they refer to it as Yellow-Green). You can take the Yellow Chromate from Testors and tint it with a little black until you get an olive color. And as previously mentioned, the bomb bay was unpainted. Here is a photo of the waist of an unrestored B-25. The chromate bits are from where the structure for the life raft was removed. Here are a couple more pictures of unrestored interior bits. There are variations that can be caused by the way the paint was mixed as well as the age and environmental factors. The main thing is it is not the bright interior green that is often found in models: Edited September 6, 2017 by Karl H TimW, BloorwestSiR, David66 and 3 others 5

AlexM
When I have about US interior colors, I check the corresponding site of IPMS Stockholm, which also provides some informations about the B-25: http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/magazine/2004/02/stuff_eng_interior_colours_us_part2.htm theseeker and David66
George
Yellow-Green is not Interior Green (FS34151). I would recommend AK Interactive's Yellow-Green for aircraft. https://www.amazon.com/B-25-Mitchell-detail-scale-Vol/dp/1888974133 https://www.ebay.com/itm/194743361093 barkhorn
Juggernut
After reading the information at the aforementioned link, I find some of the IPMS Stockholm information to be somewhat dubious and in some places, downright wrong.
