Indeed there was. A GOOD loud though.

 

The 2nd vid is a tiny taste, but way cooler sounding in person

 

It's amazing that the sound just went into "rumble" mode once the aircraft was airborne, that compared to my own experience on board the EAA B17 Aluminum overcast,  which was extremely loud when airborne, and i wished i had taken my own headset at that time, so i could very much appreciate what the wartime crew must have endured on those long flights, despite their WW2 caps/head protection.

 

But getting back to the subject, i'd have loved a trip in that tri-motor!!

Thanks for the photos, but mostly thanks for being "that guy", you know, the obnoxious one with the camera poking his lens into all those boring places where only a model builder would want to go. It is almost like we went along for the ride. Spectacular views, and very fine details in those photos. You could almost wire up the engine using them as a guide. Beautiful. "You are the man" to use a well worn compliment, but you really are. So much fun.
