topcatter
Hi, Does anyone know if DMold Modelworks are still making the 1/32 scale seamless air intakes set for the Tamiya 1/32 F4J Phantom. I have been on their website and everything there appears to be marked as "out of stock". I emailed them, but so far had no response. Has the company gone out of business. Thanks. Beau. Neo
I do not know. But there are always the contradictory Rini intakes that are in and out of atick in his ebay store
ScottsGT
Rhino's look the same, but they aren't. I've used and have both sets in the stash. Rhino's actually fit a little better with less fitting. But Dmetri takes extended vacations that are seasonal. He'll sometimes go a few months and then pop back up. It's why I stocked up when I did. Out2gtcha
I have both the D-mold and GT Resin intakes. Both are actually molded very well, but I picked up the GTR intakes because they came with the engine fan faces as well. My D-Mold intakes did not LSP_K2, dutik and Harold

topcatter
I ordered the GT Resin seamless intakes for the 1/32 Tamiya F4J phantom last week and they arrived today. They look great. Its a shame that Tamiya couldn't get the intakes right when they designed the model.
ScottsGT
Keep in mind of how old of a design the Tamiya Phantom is. Now compare that with their latest kits. Kit design and engineering has come a long way since then.
ghatherly
Hi guys, Thx for the kind words. I just wanted to mention that Sprue Brothers has the USN versions in stock. They now handle all of our sales outside of commission work. Merry Christmas ! Gary
Jasta 14 addict
I've got the GT resin ones and i must say, they are just complete useless. Bad casting, bad fit. I got the jet exhaust nozzles to and also they are really bad casted, never again. Also send a mail a couple of months ago and it seems the guy didn't not take any mail traffic seriously. For me a no go with this guy. Greetz Danny
WheelsUp
I bought the GT intakes and the casting. One intake can’t be installed flush to the fuselage due to a warp in the mold. The variable ramps lack the leading edge of one has no curvature geometry, it just goes right into the base mold holder block so you have to hand build it from scratch. The hinge slots on the ramps at the forward joint are the wrong shape and are not lined up in a straight line. Does anyone have a line on a DM set, I have dropped them (DM) a line as well asking about potential availability, waiting for a reply. Who is “Rhino” and what is his contact information? Thanks John Edited May 1, 2020 by WheelsUp Took out negative comment
ScottsGT
Rhino is a seller on eBay. I just took a look and he hasn’t had anything posted in quite a while for sale.
