  1. Does anyone have a good method for getting paint to stick to brass aftermarket pieces? I referring to F4 canopy aftermarket 1:32 scale pieces. I have tried cleaning with solvent then applying primer, but no matter how hard I try it always chips off in handling or any slight bending on installation. I’m using solvent based acrylics and some lacquer. Thanks in advance, John
  2. Jake, Thanks for the update. I was able to get a set from a source in Greece. They are ProCal decals and had what I was missing. Thank you again. John
  3. Absolutely, I sent you a request for an innovice for a second set, hopefully it got to you. Happy Holidays Artur! John
  4. I just received my LAU-7 Missile Rails from Artur, they are absolutely beautiful. Resins are clean and the detail is extremely spot on. I don’t have a method for posting photos without paying an expensive monthly fee, but take my word for it, they are beautiful. I have done a lot of research on these rails and they match up exactly with every reference material I have been able to get my hands on. Great work Artur!
  5. Well, That didn’t take long, I couldn’t find them anywhere on-line. Not too surprising I guess. Thank you again, I think I’m too late in the F-4 game to benefit from all these older now discontinued products. John
  6. All thumbs, Wow, that’s exactly what I need, I’ll have to see if I can find them on-line. Thank you very much! John
  7. Excellent, thank you very much. It’s difficult to tell which set includes decals for the pylons, I will send them an email to verify. Thank you again! John
  8. I found their email and sent them a message. We’ll see how it goes!
  9. All of the Sprue Brothers decal sets include the AOA 32-031 panel set which is what I already have. I’m still looking for the Procal set but it looks like they’re only on Facebook which I don’t use. I’m hoping to find a web site for them otherwise I will see if I can contact them via email if I can find an email address for them. Thank you both, John
  10. Does anyone know of a source for 1:32 USAF F-4C Vietnam era camouflage panel decals? I have the AOA 32-031 set but the decals for things like the wing pylons are yellow instead of black, this appears to be in keeping with the non-camouflage variants for Navy and Marine aircraft. Thanks, John
  11. Artur, No problem at all, I was just confused as to who this other person was. Links can be tricky if you copy and paste, different apps include stuff that will make them ineffectual. I’m glad to see you are a part of this forum, there are so many knowledgeable folks here it makes modeling so much easier with the wealth of knowledge here. Thank you again, and there’s no need to apologize, I’m looking forward to receiving the LAU-7 set. I have done a lot of research on this missile rail and yours look to have all the correct geometry. Best regards, John
  12. Turecki, I apologize but are you associated with Bandit Resin or are you just cleaning up the links? I’m only asking because I’ve been communicating with Artur in the UK. Thank you, John
  13. Bill, You need to copy just the url beginning with https and ending with jpg then it should work.the [img] pieces should not be included. I have been in contact with Artur who owns Bandit Resin. He’s located in the UK and he’s selling the LAU-7 rails for 7£, and 9.35£ shipping, just FYI. good luck, John
  14. These rails look pretty good, is there a web site where you can order them?
  15. Dave, Im sorry to hear that, I hate water leaks anywhere inside the house, least of all the kitchen! Please let me know when the rails are available I will absolutely purchase a set when available. Good luck on getting your repairs done, hopefully before Christmas. Stay safe, John
  16. Hi Dave, Just checking to see if the 1:32 LAU-7 launch rails are available yet. I would love to get a set for my F-4? Thanks, John
  17. Jake, Please post when the 2nd Edition becomes available and how to buy a copy! Exciting stuff! John
  18. Jake, no need to say you’re sorry, I simply missed it and it was right there in front of me. I have poured over your book so many times that I have lost count. It is a remarkable resource. Best of luck with the 2nd Edition. John
  19. Thank you Jennings, I’ll have to check it out. Um, Bob?
  20. Jennings, Thank you for the clarification. I was going by what Jake’s book calls it out as. There are so many different systems and many were adopted at different times. This is why I love this forum, so much knowledge and so many contributors. Thank you again, John
  21. Awesome, clear as a bell! Thank you so much, I can’t tell you how much I searched and couldn’t find anything! It’s like trying to find full port and starboard pics of Old’s 829, just impossible! Thanks Jari P.S. While we’re on the subject, I have never figured out how to post pics on this forum, any help here would be great as well. John
  22. My research shows the lower UHF antenna on the F-4C, just aft of the radome, is offset just slightly to the port side of the fuselage. Jake Melampy’s book, “The Modern Phantom Guide, The F-4 Phantom Exposed”, page 25, appears to validate this. I have not been able to find any other reference photos and wondered if anyone had any pics showing the reference? I have already removed the antenna and located it according to Jake’s reference as I am sure this is the definitive source. Just wondering if any other photos are out there anywhere. thanks in advance, John
