Ryan
I've been working on an easy way to simulate the appearance of this metal work in scale. After trying to brush paint, mask, and even pigment work I happened upon this. Magic marker over Alclad aluminum with a final veil coat of aluminum to tone it down. My marker work is a bit over scale as all I had was one of the larger pens, but a thinner marker would look the part. Ryan
Thanks Harv, I forgot to mention I sealed the pen work with some light coats of MM Metalizer sealer with no ill effects over the ink. One thing I was worried about twas the ink reacting with the lacquer, but all was well.
Lothar
Stunning result of a great idea - thanks for posting!!! What kind of marker is that "magic marker"? My brief search for it turned up empty, at least overhere. Thanks. Lothar

Ryan
Its a black pen over the Alclad aluminum and then a mist coat of Alclad to tone down the black pen into the aluminum. Zero77, Out2gtcha, Tnarg and 1 other

Out2gtcha
Wow, great result! I would have never guessed it was a black marker, and would have thought it was silver for sure. Great technique, thanks for sharing, as I might have to try this for my eventual Taube

I'd never thought it was black either... It works nicely anyhow !
Ryan
Yes thanks guys, when you first start drawing the pattern you will think you made a huge mistake, but the post mist of aluminum snaps it into shape. Out2gtcha
