PhilB
This happened yesterday in a very similar situation to the Hudson river landing. A321 took bird strikes to both engines shortly after take off and the pilots did a very professional job of putting her down in a maize field. All souls on board survived with only minor injuries and only one person kept in hospital overnight. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-49369172 Further news just coming in on this one. Whilst there were no serious injuries, the ghosts of numerous American baseball players were traumatised enough to need counselling and therapy. Apparently they didn't think "If you build it he will come" meant an A321 dropping on top of them. Edited August 16, 2019 by PhilB Kagemusha, D.B. If it had been then of course I wouldn't have added the other "reference".......... Out2gtcha
D Bellis
Hooray for the pilots, and note that no one mourns the '80s English dork band that got sucked into the engines... D Jack and D.B. Andrus
ringleheim
Plane only got to about 800 feet above the ground before coming back down again! Not a lot of time to make it all happen. Congrats to the pilot.
