BloorwestSiR
Looks great Shawn! One of the reasons I love lacquer paints. I've been sorting my workbench and found a Daytona I started. The proportions are a suspect though... Carl Shawn M, Gazzas, LSP_K2 and 1 other

LSP_K2
I'm intrigued by that color, Shawn. It's very similar to the color (Tamiya), that I've tentatively picked for my Revell Chevy Silverado. Shawn M
Shawn M
OMG Carl, where is that from I must have one! Got the FireBall tire decals down, talk about a wonderful decal as these are some of the nicest to work with. Kev, I have another bottle of the stuff if you want it. Should look amazing under a clear. Now gents, do I paint or decal the stripes on? Shaka HI and LSP_K2
LSP_K2
Kev, I have another bottle of the stuff if you want it. Should look amazing under a clear. Now gents, do I paint or decal the stripes on? Great offer, Shawn, and I'll seriously consider it, for sure, once I know more definitively what color I want to go with. I've ran across some fascinating painting options, using various Tamiya spray bombs, for a layered, and somewhat subtle color shifting method, and I may try that. Just out of curiosity, what brand and color did you use for this? The Revell kit of the Silverado (currently OOP), was secured through a model car forum deal, and I'm tickled silly to have it, as it seems highly unlikely that I'll ever own a real one. LSP_K2
OK, thank you, Shawn. I like the color a lot, and will really look forward to seeing what's what, after some clear coats. Shawn M
Out2gtcha
Looks great! Now gents, do I paint or decal the stripes on? If it were me, depending on what kind of stripes and how complex it is, Id probably paint it. That way you could color sand it with 2500 + grit, then clear it and polish it from there, getting a smooth finish without having to worry about clearing before the stripes (depending I guess if there are any decals to apply using a clear) Shawn M
