Zero super work on correcting the flap issues. The Ailerons of the new series. Both but are tilted about 3 ° up.But this is only detail.

You mean this one ?

I ask twice, because the new serie aileron is from a very faded plane that seems quite old, whereas the old serie aileron is on a very freshly painted aircraft.

Hi Zero. Can you give away the sources from which you drew on? Red 44 certainly is not 2nd production run, as it was based on the numbers. After the airplane serial number 25508105008 is not visible rivets on the engines and tail.SU_25_FOTO_zps653bc824.jpg

Aircraft serial number 25508105033 was made already by other technologies.IMG_1388_zpsd2314a4d.jpg

Photo ailerons is really the new series. It is the aircraft serial number 25508110007th It was made in March 1987 and it is the original color.

Great work stripping back and correcting the flaps etc Zero and, man, what phenomenal reference material you've been able to provide Harvy5. Amazing. I know so little about this aircraft I've avoided it in the past but now ........

I hope you can resolve the language issues and pin a reference thread here - it'd be a great shame to lose this marvellous information. I'm certain someone can help with the translation.

Grant.

Hi Harvy,

My sources are from this book :

SU25-Aerofax-Cover.jpg

Maybe there was 2 red44 ? In the book there is a list of all su-25 built, with construction number, country, and code, and sometimes production date. Some russian ones have 2 numbers, certainly because they have been recoded. I have not seen 2 red44, but i may have missed it.

Obviously, your 1027 with the bull on the tail is in the list, it is even mentionned that it was then sold to Armenia, if i remember well.

I am still hesitating between red44 and red05, because i think red05 is more interesting for painting with its very faded paint scheme. Even if i lack references, i could extrapolate it. But the real problem is the differences between series. Antennas can be modified easily, but stabilizers are more difficult.

I could possibly make another Chechnya war Su-25 with prevailing green hues but there is not many references about those "wolf in chains" squadron su-25.

I have made the preshading today. I have never seen any aircraft with so many rivets and panel lines.... It took me hours to do. Holding and controlling the airbrush so long was litterally aching !

I have made the 2 first coats of the lower surfaces. I started with Akan 73144 which is the new russian underside color since 2006, but i found it quite too light. So i continued with a mix with some 73033 (intended for Su-25 UTG and Su-39), and i think it is closer from the real hue :

Nice work on the pre-shading. Sure has to be the record or close to it for the most amount of pre shading on a kit.

Keep 'em coming

Underside finished ! I started with a mix of akan paints and finished with a mix of gunze sky blue with a little flat white. And i added a few akan bleu grey for the wings which seems more dirty on pictures.
