Harvy5, i have a question : what is the purpose of the little pipe outside of the exhaust nozzle? Looks like a kind of smoke device, as seen on some show aircraft.

On the second question .... the Drainages pipe to the engine fuel system. Further pipes are under the fuselage between the engines.

A first question .... This machine is definitely 8th series, and after the half 9th.series, more precisely after the the aircraft production number 09095th There are but minor modifications stabilizer attachment to the body.

See this my album http://s1067.beta.photobucket.com/user/harvy5/library/Su-25%20Frogfoot

Thank you guys !

Do you know why there is several fuel dump pipes, and why this one is in the exhaust flow? There are also ones under the engine, passing through the door :

And also some holes on the side, but i dont know if they are fuel dumps.

A few new pictures.

The kit only provide a PTB-1150 drop tank (1150L), while on most photo one can see the PTB-800 (800L) is more often used. In addition, the aircraft i will represent (red 44, i have made my mind !) is carrying PTB-800 on pics (see pictures on posts above).

So i converted the PTB-1150 in PTB-800, quite easy. You only have to cut following the lines, an re-glue it again. Seems that the 2 models drop tanks are exactly the same except 2 more sections for the 1150.

I had to use some putty on the tail fin. I tried to simulate the sheet metal that seal this part in full scale shing.

Here are the pylons from Zactoman. Wonderful pieces of detail, and that has impressed me the most is the perfect fit (far more that the kit pieces !).

Some pictures of the fantastic pitot tubes from a korean guy that i forgot the name (he sells on ebay). THe work is very impressive. First i wonder how the man has soldered the fins so cleanly on the right tube. But looking through a magnifying glass, i saw that it was not soldered at all, but milled from the block !!! Very impressive job, and congratulations to him !

THose pieces are a great addition compared from the poor pitot tubes from the kit.

The only difficult thing is that you have to enlarge the holes in the nose, and it is not that easy to do it straight. THen i put cyano glue in the holes in put the tubes, trying to keep them straight and parallel. THey are, but the left one is a little bit longer than the right one of about 1/2mm. I dont think it is visible to the naked eye, i only spotted it placing a rule on the forward face of the tubes.

You can see on the first pic that i add a home made stuff in the nose to simulate the sensor (IR i believe) behind the nose glass. Trumpeter does not provide anything and i found that it looked very empty, so i have made it. It is not a very clean job, i have to say, but it makes the illusion.

Here is the gun muzzle break i have made from the kit's two muzzle break provided. There are 2 option but both are wrong (sorry i forgot to take pics of the original pieces). So i took parts from both, drilled and cut, and tried to have a result quite closed to the real stuff :

Thanks a lot Harvy for the informations about the pipes !

I haved used your picture in your album for the details of my canopy.

For the gun muzzle break, on red 44, it seems that it is the new model indeed. So my modification may be wrong, but i think the early model looks better. And it is possible that the new model muzzle break has been changed during the overhaul in 2008, isn't it ?

Hmmm - I have a kit on the way as a Christmas prezzie from my wife - this aeroplane looks so tempting as a subject...

Have found a few other images - but all showing Port side - anyone got any images of the Starboard side/upper surface?

Thanks for posting!
