Zero77
I have worked on the front and main wheel bay. Actually, i closed the fuselage yesterday, now have to putty / sand / regrave it. I have also progressed a bit on the engine, i will post pics when they would be painted, but i am very happy with my inlet, that i managed to get seamless (it was hard !). Zero77
New update : I have worked on the engines, or rather on 1 engine because i am not sure yet if i let the engine door open, but anyway it would be only the left one, not both. As i have already shown on another topic, i have spent a lot of time on praparing the inlet ducts in order to have them as seamless as possible. I am quite happy white the result. My process was : gluing, masking the inside except the seam, puttying the seam (with Mr surfacer), smoothing with thinner (mr color thinner), sanding with a piece of sanding paper rolled around a piece of sprue, then polishing with micromesh 3600, regraving the rivets that have almost disappeared (as possible...), spraying a coat of primer (alclad grey primer), then sanding with fine grain (1000) and micromesh, then as the seam was still present next to the entrance of the ducts puttying again, sanding again, micromeshing again, regraving again, then one more coat of primer , then repolishing, then painting with the grey/green (same as the wheel bay) but with an addition of semi-gloss white in order to have a lighter color (if it is too dark, one cant see anything inside those ducts....), and then one more polishing. Zero77
I have added some rivets, pipes and wires, but i only detailed what is visible once in the fuselage. I still dont know if the door will be open or not, so i dont want to spend to much time on detailing something that maybe hidden. And even if i let the door open, only a very few of the engine can be seen. Edited December 10, 2012 by Zero77
Zero77
I have also found a way to correct a bit the flares lauchers. I have moulded (silicone) the rear launchers to have a good template with holes instead of cylinders, and made a copy in resin. And after cutting and modifying the stuff, i managed to obtain quite a good flare box, which i can put in the whole launching device. Zero77
I knew the front wheel bay was always closed when the plane is on the ground, except a very little door, but i never payed attention that the main wheel bays are also almost closed !!!! I just noticed that yesterday.... That's a pity all those nice aires pieces wont be visible when finished... Zero77
Arg, i cant make my mind if i make the flaps extended or retracted.... I have never seen any picture of a frogfoot with extended flaps when park on the ground (nor the leading edge), but it give the model a bit of life. In addition, the kit flaps are a bit too thick compared to the wing thinckness so when retracted there is a little step, and now the flaps are glued it would be very difficult to thin them without loosing the engraving. I think i will build them extended, and we will see... Extended : Retracted : Any opinion guys?

Zero77
The fisher resin wheels. The details are amazing, and they are a great addition compared to the OOB wheels (with vinyl tyres...). On the other hand, i am not very satisfied with my paint job. I think i will clean this dirt, add a slight coat of flat varnish and re-dust them again. Edited December 21, 2012 by Zero77
