Tomek Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 You are an airbrush artist, Ralph. Big time!!! Amazing work.... I'm speechless...
ww2wings Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Very impressive technique! Thanks for sharing!
DougN Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Most impressive as usual Ralph. I wish you would make a video, as it would be really useful to watch! Doug
eagledocf15 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Very impressive work! You are a true master!
Ralph Riese Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Slow progress, but getting some colour onto the floats. Used a combination of 0.7mm and 1.0mm AIZU masking tape between the layers of green. Removing the tape shows the cartoon-like result. The bars on the lighter green camo colour have been mottled with an even lighter shade to feather the hard edges. A bit loud up close... ... more acceptable as you move away. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Ralph.
ww2wings Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Great looking paint! The frame effect just looks outstanding!
Guest Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I think it came out top shelf ! Good work.....Harv
Wolf Buddee Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 As always, inspirational work Ralph! The use of contrasting colours and then blending of those colours really makes a huge difference in the final appearance. It does look like you have a step or two to replace on the forward struts. Delicate little buggers I'm sure. Lookin' forward to seein' her all done. Cheers, Wolf
Ralph Riese Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Thanks for your comments Gents - appreciate the interest. Here' a bit more. Kit stencil decals, some water-based Flory Models weathering washes - a 50:50 mix of Mud Brown and Dark Dirt on the blue, and straight Mud Brown on the greens - and some Testors Dullcote.
Ralph Riese Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Kit decals went on fine. Leftover 48th scale "650mm" AeroMaster decasl fro the rudder.
Ralph Riese Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Thanks for looking. Cheers, Ralph. Pfuf, Hartmann52, CATCplSlade and 1 other 4
