Umm...what do you mean by saying you were "shocked"?

Brad

as the proud owner of the IX kit, i can say i was shocked at the quality of the kit, despite it being bigged up for so long - really does have to be seen in one's hands to be believed

anyhoo, what are the marking options for the VIII? have looked on a number of sites and couldn't find a detailed breakdown / profiles...is this info not out there yet?

cheers

sorry for not making it clear - the kit is AWESOME in detail, complexity, mould quality, instrsuction booklet detail

basically, when everyone rave about something for so long, very often when you actually have it in your hands it is rather a disappointment

this is definitely NOT the case with this kit!!!

in fact, i'm not sure i am worthy of it!

:)

Went to the one if only decent shops left in TO today and indeed saw the new Spit kit as well as the first issue. Looked briefly at it and it looks nice.

Unfortunately and some will say "what??" its not my particular favourite british fighter. The price I think was good considering the detail we all come to expect from Tamiya.

So for those waiting and those that have them enjoy!

Cheers,

I've got one on order from Sprue Brothers. UPS tracking shows it's in Albuquerque, my home, and should be delivered tomorrow, and I can't wait. I was surprised when I saw Sprue Brothers had them and ordered immediately. As I said, I can't wait.

Kit marking options are as follows:

1) "Lonesome Polecat" of the USAAF

2) AN*J of 417 Sqn RCAF

3) RG*V of Australian 'Grey Nurse' Sqn

Kit also includes the 90gal "slipper" auxillary fuel tank (a nice touch)
