I dunno,

I got in with no problem.

But I had to wait a day to be approved after I had registered.

When I got the email message approving my entry I logged in and have had no problem at all.

She is simply building models the old way, with wood, like we used to do back in the early 1940's during the war.

Because the Triebfugel has a symetrical fuselage she turned it out of a hard wood on a lathe.

Nothing mysterious about that.

But on a plastic model forum it opened a few eyes.

Stephen, can't log in either, but would it be possible, since you're "looking at the pictures", to copy them and paste it right here in this thread, so everybody can see them? Sure the people at the "what-if" site wouldn't mind??

Those of you who are interested in making models from your imagination should really try to register for this site.

One can get pretty tired of just making copies of real airplanes.

It is a lot of fun to make the "What-ifs" and that is what this site specializes in.

Do the registration and then relax for a while, It will take at least 24 hours for the adminsitrators to send you an acceptance email.

It is well worth your while.

The process photos of the 'Triebflugel' scratchbuild just show making a model the old way, like we used to do in the early 1940's.

A rectangular block of wood, Cut out the shape from the top; cut out the shape from the side. Then, since the fuselage is essentially symetrical, turn it on a wood lathe.

It is the oldest technique, its novelty is in the fact that the younger plastic modelers (under 60 years of age) have never see this process before. Most plastic modelers know only plastic models. Carving from wood is a mind blower to them.

Hello All,

Gregory
