    Hi everyone,

The new pipes are placed on the front bulkhead of the cockpit.

    Hi everyone,

Thank you for your messages it's nice.

Candles must be Cubits with this version.

I used the Eduard resin candles that I cut in half and pierced in order to pass the ignition cable to achieve the elbow.

    Hi everyone,

    Extended intake pipes.

I used Maskol originally intended for masking to temporarily fix my exhausts without sticking them. It's surprisingly very effective.

    Hi all

Pipes on the heads of the cylinders.

Regular formatting of the 18 pipes with an improvised folding machine.

    Set up the wire.

    Push the counter-piece.

And here are 18 regular pipes

    Setting up the cylinders.

The admission pipes are too short.

I want to leave the engine hoods open and the pipes are too short which bothers me.

    I've extended the intake pipes.

For the masking of pipes, I use Teflon, used in sanitary to waterproof the fittings

    .

    There you go.

I foresee the same problem with the exhaust pipes.

    Hello everyone,

I am new on the forum, excuse my English because I use Google translation.

So far I have posted montages on French forums only, despite the language problem I have joined the Larges Scale Planes community that I have been following for a long time and which I appreciate very much.
Your criticism, remarks and advices are welcome for me in order to progress in this Hobby.

    I started a Corsair F-4U 1A some time ago.

I'm going to embellish this Tamiya Kit with the Eduard cockpit and engine.

I started with the Pratt & Whitney 2800 engine from the Eduard Kit.

For the painting of the cylinders I used Humbrol Mascol liquid mask that I cut once dry. To preserve the slice of the black cooling plates.

Home tools used for cutting the liquid mask.

The painting of the cylinders once finished.

Ran into some issues with the K-4 build so instead of twiddling my thumbs while paint dries, I am going to attempt some painting on the Corsair.  The port wing of 17740 is described as being a replacement from an older F4U based on having insignias on both sides of the wings.  I'm going to paint this wing in Medium Blue Grey.
The panel lines are pre-shaded in black and then I add a random mottle using bits of brillo pad and splatter templates.  The Medium Blue Grey is AK Real Color thinned with Tamiya Lacquer Thinner.

Some variation was imparted by lightening the color for the fabric sections and doubling down on the Blue Grey on random panels.

Into the lightbox for an alternate view.  Color rendition is more accurate in the desk shot actually.

Thanks guys!  Eight months after I started this build, I now am at the finish line.  Although it didn't turn out the way I envisioned, I'm glad I did the salt fading on this model.  The initial effect plus all of the corrective work to tone it down and re-establish the base camo colors adds to complexity and depth of the finish, I believe.  It tells a story, unplanned as it was.
Adding the last bits and pieces to White 8.  The balancing units underneath the ailerons, the various small antennae, the pitot tube, the landing gear outer doors and finally the prop are finally glued into place.  Some pieces have been sitting painted and unattached for half a year.  The masks for the clear parts are carefully peeled off and thankfully, no nasty surprises from within the cockpit (my worst nightmare).

The aerial is still to be strung between the rudder tab and the top of the fuselage but once that is done, it will be time for the finished photos.  Curious to see the color scheme in natural light. But the weather here in Southern California is bad right now and so the courtyard that serves as my photo studio won't be available until the weather clears up.
I am going to jump onto the Corsair next and then start up a new project.  Which will be...

    The Zoukei-Mura 1/32 Ta 152H-1 kit, which I will be backdating to a H-0 and depicting W.Nr. 150007 White 7...

    Hi everyone,

A big thank you for all your messages.

The engine is almost finished. I'll leave it at that for now, I still have to skate it but I will do it when the time is right to put it in the fuselage to match it with the whole.

In addition I'm a little tired of this engine which, I must admit, has put me a few times in trouble to realize it.

Plus I can't wait to start the Eduard cockpit.
