  1. What an amazing project! Following with interest!
  2. Very nice- great livery too. Ive got that same set.
  3. Really nice- genuinely one of the best Revell F8's Ive seen.
  4. Excellent. Have just read 'Bloody Biscay' by Chris Goss all about KG40 and their Ju88 C6's- if you havent read it, its worth a look. Love the camo job on your model. Which nose conversion did you use?
  5. Looks fantastic. Ive got one of these high on theto do list so this thread has been an inspiration.
  6. Agreed, but Ive read that left over Italian paint was used at squadron level to 'customise' certain aircraft. Seems weird there would be so many interesting 'B' camo's but none for the 'D'. This looks as though it might be splinter 'plus': Or this?:
  7. Hmmmm- yeah, Ive seen the British one, but I wanted to do something like a well worn Luftwaffe version (Ive got a spatless conversion to put on it) with something like one of the Ju87B schemes Ive seen eg spliter camo with RLM 79 patterns over it, or 78/79 with Italian green blocks like this:http://modelingmadness.com/review/axis/luft/pab87a.jpg Maybe I should just do one anyway....
  8. Nothing really interesting on Wings Palette on this subject, other than one 78/79 scheme or the El Alamein Stg3 scheme that you get with the Hasegawa D kit. At this rate I think Ill end up making one up...
  9. Oooo- that is nice, Kagemusha. Have been leaning towards stencils more these days anyway.
  10. Hi All, like the title says, does anyone know where I could find some decent desert camoflage profiles or photos for the Ju87 Dora? Looking to build some sort of RLM 78/79 coloured version, or one which has the RLM 70/71 splinter camo with desert 'additions' of 79. One without the u/c spats would be even better. Any assistance would be appreciated as googling doesnt really bring much up.
  11. Lovely model. Fancy one of those myself. Dont know if anyone has already posted this, but stumbled onto this 1/4 scale Ju188 when Googling AIMs stuff. Truly amazing- 2 X 250cc engines! Dont know whether its flown yet though...
  12. Check this out, Scotsman- Ive bought several kits off this lot, including the He219 for £29.95! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REVELL-P-51D-5NA-Mustang-1-32-Aircraft-Model-Kit-03944/401448176036?epid=15010567258&hash=item5d782d09a4:g:rlcAAOSwXPNaGLGO
  13. My 10 cents worth.... Ive ordered from them 3 or 4 times- first via fleabay, then direct from their website. Always thought their postage costs were high, and everytime they have been very, very slow. However, the wait was worth it as their products are really good quality. Ive mainly bought Fw190 and Bf109 wheels from their 'no mask' range and they have been beautifully cast out of a really nice material. Its a shame they cant sort their postage system out- its certainly put me off dealing with them more frequently.
  14. Lovely job. Interesting that you mention the Vallejo Matte varnish. I swear by it. Hardly use Vallejo paints at all now apart from on small details- I used to and still have quite a few of them, but Im a Mr Paint convert now and cant say enough good things about the stuff- However, I always use the Vallejo Matte at the end as its so easy to use and the finish is excellent.. I will have to try one of the Vallejo metal finishes- Im normally Alclad or AK Extreme Metals.
  15. Really nice work- I like the chosen livery too- love the 15 AF aircraft- we dont see enough of them. Ive read a lot of negative comments about the canopy on this new ROG '51, and I think alot of folks have got replacements directly from Revell on request which are supposed to be better (not perfect....).
  16. Yeah, think you are right. Still might have a go at casting some in bronze, but bit of a long shot....
  17. Mmmmm- they look lovely. Unfortunately out of my price range, particularly once you put shipping to the UK on it. One set left....
  18. Thanks Troy. Luckily, a) they were cheap and they arent fitted to the kit. Think Im going to try and cast some myself in bronze. And thanks to everyone else for their input- its been enlightening to say the least (!) Glad I got the heads up, because I was going to buy another SAC set for my Revell He219's. The one good thing I had heard about this one was that they had been cast with the weight of the aircraft modelled into them- apparently, the kit ones are too long as theyve been designed fully extended as though the aircraft is airborne and with no weight on the U/C. There is actually a Profimodellor set with brass rods for strengthening the kit legs but Im not sure if it addresses the incorrect oleo length.
  19. Wow- what a response. Seems no love for the SAC's gear then? Ive thought about going the tube/solder route (Ive got other kits I want to change the landing gear on, such as the PCM Mc202/205), although in the case of the Ju88 theres a soft cover over the oleo leg which would be difficult to reproduce. I do have access to bronze casting, although its generally larger items that are cast in this foundry. Maybe Ill have a go at casting some replacements. I could also 3D print some (I work at a University), but dont think they would be any stronger than the kit parts Ill also have a go with the hot water and see if I can straighten them. Thanks for the input!
  20. Hey Folks, wondered if anyone had any experience in the above? Bought a set of SAC's Ju88 landing geat struts from fleabay, and they arrived bent to high heaven- not just the main leg, which has a slight bend, but more seriously, the wheel spindles - severely. Im worried they will snap if I bend them back the other way, so should I be using heat? Is there any magic method? The bend is right at the point which takes the highest load- where the wheel spindle meets the gear leg... Any advice would be appreciated. Thunda
  21. Lovely- just a nice amount of weathering- I really dislike the 'quilted' look as you describe it. How did you find the Trumpeter Hellcat to build?
