  1. Very recogniseable losing steam and interest when going full OCD mode on the last tiniest details. Am having a great deal of trouble continuing my tiny 1/72 Spitfire but just yesterday I put the second wing half on so just need to do the engine now and that's the structural work done before paint. Your work on the bomb bay, cockpit and engine looks sweet, hope to be using your topic as one of the guidelines when the time comes to start my 1/24 Sea Mossie build.
  2. The chosen configuration is 1962, release of the kit was (I think) somewhere in the year 2001 with the first of a 2 part article printed in the first Dutch IMPS mag of 2002 (which states that these were THE last Heller kits available). Extras are: - 75 resin parts - 175 etched metal parts - 1 diagonal (blame Google Translate) - 1 round messing rod - 2 sheets styrene - decal sheet with 115 decals The numerical certificate
  3. Government budget cuts eh The base is Heller's Arromanches/Colossus kit with a few extras, it came to be with the combined effort of several people. One of the resin Grumman Trackers A plasticized picture that was acquired at an airshow.
  4. Having seen a couple of ship topics in here and having browsed through AEROPOXY's Dutch navy Avenger build (which made me dig the following kit from my stash), it looked like a good time to pull my Hr. Ms. Karel Doorman from the shelf again. The hull was started a long time ago.
  5. Not exactly LSP but a truely genuine rarity. AEROPOXY made me dig this one from my stash when I happened upon his Avenger build, the hull was started a long time ago.
  6. That would be quite the honor! Has me thinking if someone would want to make corrected parts for the 1/32 Matchbox-Revell Spitfire 22/24 based on the corrections I made and am making to mine.
  7. Just for comparison's sake, what about Revell Contacta Liquid Special? From the description it seems to be doing a sturdier job than Humbrol Clearfix without messing up the clear parts.
  8. Ejector marks if I ever saw them, not very Tamiya-like You're off to a great start, can exactly imagine how you went through all the resources from doing my 1/72 Fujimi Spitfire that now has all the bells and whistles in the pit (see topic in non-LSP works).
  9. Does this MS Kristal Klear also do the trick for vacuform canopies?
  10. Built this so far back I don't even remember. Revell 1:32 F-15 twoseater with fully operative navigation lights suite... ALL Revell, NO aftermarket! The reason you currently see it like this is that the weight of everything made the model go through it's landing gear, am wondering if the white metal gear struts are better up to the job.
  11. Speaking of said engine, the drawing for RM740 shows circular exhaust stubs however all pictures of 322sqn Mk.XIV's show the fishtail style exhaust stubs. Anyone know what's the deal with that?
  12. Having just discovered Vallejo I am pretty confident a good result can indeed be achieved with a brush, it goes on nice and smoothly.
  13. Second wing half just went on and is now drying, thank God the major work is almost finished now. Just need to tidy her up before paint and get the Armycast engine on at the proper angle and in the right position. Like I said, flap indicator arm. No fancy blinkers like in today's cockpits.
  14. Interesting way of hanging aircraft from your wall!
  15. It seems the earlier marks had it in silver and the later ones changed to green, no idea where the transition happened.
  16. This is begging for a vacuform canopy as it is a wonderful model otherwise.
  17. Magnificent build and great pic on the Karel Doorman carrier. So many interesting projects, so little time and money
  18. STUNNING work. Have this kit waiting on the shelf here, would have loved to see a WIP to go by of yours for when the time comes.
  19. Great work getting back into it, may eventually build one myself.
  20. Have already made quite some progress on this but figured people may be interested to see what it looks like. Had already built one way way back in my teens straight out of the box but as it goes with all starter kits it eventually was deemed ready for the bin. Taking the hobby back up since the start of 2015 with a completely new mindset and with an identical kit on the shelves for God knows how long, a whole string of aftermarket sets were acquired including the corrected Quickboost fuselage spine (which was about 1mm too short at the tailfin end) and a nigh on impossible to get PE set from Eduard specifically for the XIV (extremely pleased with it, contains flaps and indicator arms/doors). Will be finishing it as RM740 from the time it entered service with 322 (Dutch) RAF squadron about a month before D-day and put it on an Airfix D-Day diorama base from the Typhoon box. Really should have done a duo-build with said poor Typhoon so might start looking at how to approach that. Buggered up the vacuform canopy so had to order a new one, am looking for advice on what adhesive to use in attaching the rear part securely to the fuselage.
  21. Speaking of Leonard Nimoy, I guess with his passing the tribute build got a whole new meaning.
  22. Great work so far, the cockpit and figure look stunning. The use of silver in the area behind the seat has me wondering because in most pics I've seen that is green also.
  23. Awesome work, I remember building this OOB in a very vague memory of long times past.
  24. What price do you project the ready-to-buy final product to be?
