  1. Thanks, guys! I have hitch up my britches and get some paint in that compartment and the wheel well. I'm pretty sure the compartment would be in white, but the well could be OD or maybe white. I'm still looking for color schemes for a dull, faded OD bird. I have the Squadron books and that's about it. Any other references or sites I could consult? TIA- and cheers! Chuck
  2. Thanks, Jack, Sepp and Troy! Well, friends- sit down to tale of modeling adventure, styrene feats of derring-do and cold brass tragedy... if you dare!
  3. A bone-headed question, but will it work on the E-2 Trop? Also, is the No2 tank availble alone in 1/48? I have the Eduard G-2/R1 kit.
  4. If there was a photo to be posted double, that's the one! Outstanding finish, Luc- cheers!
  5. Congrats, Grampa! What a nice addition to your family stash. The Hawker is coming along so nicely- I relish every post- cheers! Chuck
  6. Very nice! I have one- next build, perhaps?
  7. Cheers, Troy! You can my earlier works at http://chukw.blogspot.com/ So glad I ordered the sander and router sets- they live on my bench at all times now!
  8. Many thanks, Chris- I have much more in the works!
  9. Thanks, Dave- glad you've caught up with this post!
  10. Cheers, Kev! You will love the Davis Union tools- I use them whenever I sit down to model now. As for the magnifers, the model I have needed some sharp edges on the headpiece to use with the headstrap. I've ended up going back to the 'glasses' option and love the ease of use- and the super-bright LEDs. Good luck with yours!
  11. Thanks, Mustang! Here's the latest shagadelic update!
  12. No worries, troy- I didn't receive that message, but I have been using both tools with great satisfaction- cheers!
  13. Many thanks, Turbo! Hope you get thawed out soon, Troy- stay safe!
  14. Question: what is the long steel pin with the fine slot cut in used for? Thanks! BTW, I'm deliriously happy with my -400 and the 550 Elite- cheers!
  15. Glad you've locked the problem down! You'll be better in no time- cheers, John!
  16. I have a lot of pics of this aircraft taken at the NAS Whidbey Island Open House- let me know if there any areas you'd like to see. The cockpits were not avaiable, nor were the engine nozzles, as might be expected. We live in the one of the approaches to the Outlying FLCP Field and get our treetops mowed all too often.
  17. Thanks, LSP Mike and Mustang1989! Wow, Mark- you really came through! I've downloaded a lot of those cockpit pics already, and found one of a derelict with very interesting IP coamings. On the pilot's side it has a circular opening for the sight, and it protrudes outward over the IP. On the co-pilot's side is a rectangular opening. I also have a pic of a bad copy of an nth generation xerox and you can just dope out a flat box with rounded ends fore and aft- like certain cameras. What the lens at the front looks like I do not know, but it seems to have filmed through the windshield. I'll Google Grumann gun camers of the 50s- 60 s and try my luck. Boy, that manual site is so unrealistic- 44 bucks for a PDF download of one manual? LOL! Anyway, thanks agin and cheers!
