  1. They look alright to me Bill,...I think you may be trying to get them too perfect with the mask, after masking wheels I paint, I just about always have to go back in with a brush and touch up. Just my thoughts, Jeff.
  2. Looking good now Marcel! Really, very nice, and those exhaust nozzles are probably the best I have ever seen. Cheer's, Jeff.
  3. Outstanding! Superb work all round there. Cheer's, Jeff.
  4. Hi Joe, thats very nice of you to offer, I'll send you a PM. Cheer's, Jeff.
  5. Hello all, After finding a new pic of the P-47D that I am currently modelling, I have noticed that it has the Curtiss Asymmetrical Paddle Prop on it, I have the Curtiss Symmetrical Paddle Prop that comes with the Hasegawa kit, but now knowing this, I would like to try and get the correct Prop for the plane I'm doing, .. I have had a look around, but cant seem to find any of the major aftermarket companies that do the Asymmetrical ones. Does anyone know of any company that does them, that I may have overlooked? I looked on ebay to see if there were any Trumpeter sprues with the props on them for sale, as I know Trumpeter's kit comes with the Asymmetric prop, but there are none for sale at the moment, so any aftermarket ones would be great. This is the P-47 I am doing, it looks to have the Curtiss Asymmetrical Prop. Any info will be much appreciated! Cheer's, Jeff.
  6. Excellent work! Dont see too many of these posted, you have done a superb job on this one. Cheer's, Jeff.
  7. Beautifully done! That is one superb build. Cheer's, Jeff.
  8. Outstanding Pete! You always work out a way to overcome some of the hard obstacles that turn up in modelling. Brilliant! Cheer's, Jeff.
  9. Sensational Peter! What an amazing job. Cheer's, Jeff.
  10. Beautiful work John! That turned out superb, and particularly since you were using a new dual action airbrush for the first time, that is excellent paintwork. Well done! Cheer's, Jeff.
  11. I'm pretty sure I started mine in 2013 Bill, just the riveting and some minor work, put it away for years, got rid of a lot of old kits, but always kept this one, because I love the P-47 and hoped I would get back to it someday, and like you, I've been on a roll lately as well. Cheer's, Jeff.
  12. Thanks a lot Bill!.....your build is going great!, and you work a lot faster than I do. Cheer's, Jeff.
  13. Yes, I wish it would be released again, as I have some Afterburner Aggressor sheets that I want to do, but the CJ kit is not good for, thats if you can even get one, that is, even that kit is not available from any of the online stores I use. Cheer's, Jeff.
  14. Great info Jay!....I'll take all that advice in when it comes time to attach the landing gear to my P-47 build. Cheer's, Jeff.
  15. Just a quick update, filled in the Windscreen repair with some super glue and putty and sanded smooth, then re-scribed, re-riveted and primed. Cheer's Jeff.
  16. Jeeezzz, very sorry about the late reply John!....I haven't looked at the thread for a few days. For the Cowling, I did the fix that Rick Kranias shows in his article on Barracuda's site, it seemed to work well, a bit of filing and adjusting and I got it on pretty good. Here is the link to Rick's fix, http://barracudacals.com/gallery/index.php/Hasegawa-1-32-P-47D-Thunderbolt-Rick-Kranias-Kensington-MD Thanks John, Cheer's, Jeff.
  17. Just beautiful work there! Having built one of these myself, I know how hard it is to get a finish on it like you have achieved here, that is absolutely flawless work, especially for such a complex build like the Fee.. Outstanding work and great photography as well! Cheer's, Jeff.
  18. Wow!....that is absolutely stunning Patrick! You wont see a much better piece of modelling than that, absolutely flawless work on an excellent scheme. Well done! Cheer's, Jeff.
  19. Nice Bill!......I should have got these for my build, would have saved me sanding the kit parts, and these look much better. Cheer's, Jeff.
  20. Hi Jaro, no, I didnt thin anything down , thats how they come standard.Thats what appealed to me, I saw someone elses build using them, and I looked at how thick the kit ones were, and didnt fancy trying to make them look better, so I grabbed a set of them. The fin sections are delicate though, so you have to be careful handling them. Cheer's, Jeff.
  21. Every time I think this thing is ready for paint, I find something else that needs attention....I forgot all about the slight sink marks on the wings until I was looking at Citadelgrad's build thread and he mentioned it, so filled them in, then had to re-rivet and re-scribe those areas. This is where I'm at with it now, attached the windscreen, and had to insert the thinnest piece of styrene strip I had along the Starboard side edge, it just wasnt making contact properly with the fuselage, .....now I just have to put a dab of putty along the join to fill any dips or holes, and neaten it up, then, hopefully I can start getting some paint laid down. The Eduard 1000 Pound bombs are ready for paint as well. Thats all for now, thanks for looking, Cheer's, Jeff.
  22. Unbelievable work Jay! As the others have said, that cockpit looks like the real deal. Cheer's, Jeff.
  23. Just simply amazing work Oliver! Another masterpiece in the making here. Cheer's, Jeff.
