  1. Looking awesome Anthony! Cant remember if I was one of the first few, but I will be wanting one!
  2. Heya Anthony, Department of Corrections Rotol 3 blade prop is OOP. I contacted them late last year and that's the answer they gave me.
  3. I have built a couple in the past, but I think its time for a chance... I think I will have a few more in the future!
  4. Cheers Guys, Dan, the figures are Alpine Figures.
  5. I haven't built much lately, as I was unable to sit comfortably for more than 10-15 minutes at time at the bench, thanks to an back issue. Prior to my operation I started gluing bits together of the Tamiya M-10 when I could. It pretty much fell together and got it to this point pre surgery where I had to stop. Now surgery fixing the issue I am able to sit longer and actually get a bit done! So I am calling this one done now. The M10 was painted with Mr Color Lacquer & Vallejo paint, weathered with AK & Ammo washes, pigments etc, Stowage is a mixture of Black Dog, Blast Models and Tamiya bits. I plan to get to a base and figures later on.
  6. Looking great! Do you have a link for those dremel tools? I may have to order a set!
  7. As far as I know, He's still not producing them at the moment. There is a couple I want now.
  8. this was on the board last year. I bumped the topic a couple times.
  9. this was on the board last year. I bumped the topic a couple times.
  10. Just let you know that Wingnut Wings charges the shipping at cost from NZ Post, there is no mark up on it. The untracked Airmail service is actually tracked in some countries, but not available via the NZ Post website. So those of you that reside in Canada, UK & US and a few other countries it will track on your local postal service website. You will just need to drop me an email at help@wingnutwings.com and ask for the consignment number of the package. Also its fully insured if something did happen to the package. Cheers Dave Wingnut Wings Sales & Logistics Manager.
  11. Hi Troy, Yes I complete the same step 4 times to ensure that I am at the same place with all of them. I find if you jump a head with one of them, you may miss something that you have to do.
  12. I guess its time for another update after finding some time during the weekend to down at the bench. Three of the 160hp D.III engine blocks have been built in sub-assemblies so the cylinders can be removed and smaller parts have been keep separate for painting. I still need to build up one 180hp D.IIIa engine. I did have a small accident with one of set of interior frames.... I will grab a couple of spares and fix this up which will be a quick fix. The remaining three fuses are are ready to be closed up once the engines have been painted and fitted. So its starting to come to the easy side of things once the fuses have been closed.
  13. Time for another small update... Most of the interior is complete. Only need to sort the harness out, but somehow my lighter has gone walking. I guessing it wasn't put back after someone grabbed it for to light candles for a B'day cake a while ago. So I can't anneal the harness at the moment, so that is my only delay. Mr Paint Ochre & Red Wood colours were used with AK Interactive Mud washes for the wood grains, and Tamiya XF-76 for interior green. I am hoping to hit the four engines this week, and picking up a couple of lighters today so I can start closing up the fuselages in the weekend. Would be really nice if I can start getting some paint on the exterior soon.
  14. Cost of shipping is done by weight. The AEG is a heavy kit, its 1.6kgs. Where most of the Single & Double seaters are under 1kg.
  15. Also XF-60 in the Enidecker manual is referred to as "Fokker Beige" not Clear Dope Linen.
  16. From the Wingnut Wings Fokker E.1 product page - http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/product?productid=3049, last paragraph - "It appears that Fokker Eindecker steel tube framework and fittings were painted in grey-green while all aluminium panels and cowls remained unpainted and were given a ‘squiggly turned' finish. Despite conventional wisdom, photographic evidence indicates that no Fokker Eindeckers were factory finished in Clear Doped Linen (CDL). Contemporary allied combat reports record Fokker Eindecker colours such as “dark brownâ€, “dark brown wings on the upper sideâ€, “greyâ€, “straw yellowâ€, “whiteâ€, “black†and “butcher blueâ€. A French report mentions that “the fabric of the Fokker wings was generally beige in 1916†while capture reports of later production E.III 196/16 and E.III 210/16 simply mention “beigeâ€. It is possible that “beige†and “straw yellow†are actually same colour and “white†and “black†may refer to misidentified Pfalz Eindeckers. It would appear that the linen covering was dyed, possibly before being fitted to the aircraft, or colour doped after being attached but before being finished with clear shrinking dope and varnish. Most Fokker Eindeckers exhibit heavy castor oil staining along their fuselages which soaked through the fabric from the inside, considerably darkening the coloured fabric."
  17. Managed to get in front of an airbrush this afternoon. It didn't start off well with the airbrush nozzle snapping off after I dismantled it for a clean. Lucky I own a couple of other airbrushes! All the small items are mostly painted, just need hand paint the straps and brackets on some parts. I have been using Mr Paint and Mr Color for everything so far, bar the interior green which is Tamiya. I should be able to find some time this week to start getting everything into sub assemblies. But man there are a lot of parts! by David Johnson, on Flickr
  18. Keeping track is pretty easy for this one. Its not the first time I have tackled multiple builds at the same time. All of them are pretty much the same up till schemes really. Wings are the same, a part from one being covered in Lozenge. There will be some small things like windscreens that will be different, but they will be fitted towards the end. If they were quite different I would wrap tape around the tail and then write on the scheme letter on it.
  19. Its been a while since I have ready posted anything... Life is busy with work and family, as I am sure most of you are familiar with. I have been working on WNW's Jasta 5 Albatros over the last 2 weeks, when I get a spare moment in the evenings. I also raided another kit for another set of sprues as there are 4 schemes that I am waiting to do out of the 11 provided in the kit. Schemes that I am doing are - Albatros D.V 2065~17, Richard Flashar (2 victories) July 1917 & Hans Joachim von Hippel (2 victories), February 1918, Jasta 5 (Red Dragon) Albatros D.V Stallion Jasta 5, July 1917 Albatros D.V, Ltn Wolf, Jasta 5, July 1917 (2 victories) (Blue & White Diamonds) Albatros D.V Gauntlet, Richard Flashar, Jasta 5, April-May 1918 (2 victories) Currently this is where I am, post I have a lot of other parts cleaned up ready for primer and paint, hopefully that will be done tomorrow morning when I have a few hours to myself. by David Johnson, on Flickr
  20. I can't see anything that is stating that. It appears that the initial CAD is done.
  21. True Details does chutes - https://www.squadron.com/searchresults.asp?Search=parachute+1%2F32&Submit=
  22. The rudder camo is similar but different to my eye.
  23. There is about 8 hobby stores up and down the country. With being a small population and even smaller modelling community prices at the local stores are somewhat more than you hope sometimes. In the past I had problems sourcing paint brands that I preferred other than Humbrol or Tamiya, but Vallejo and some other brands are popping up now. Sadly as much as I would love to support my local, 9 times out of 10, its cheaper to order from Asia or Australia. I normally use BNA Models, Lucky Model or HLJ and Sprues Brothers when no one has what I require instock. There are IPMS clubs around the place, lucky Christchurch has one. IPMS Nationals can be interesting, normally the Wellington one is the biggest. I would suggest signing up too www.kiwimodeller.com too, as that is where all the locals hang out.
  24. Yeah I would be interested too
  25. Box art is real. You can visit the product page here - http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/product?productid=3162
