  1. I do the same thing with my kits and then with my decals I try to put them in an appropriately sized zip-lock bag which then goes into a clear 3 ring binder sleeve and finally into the 3 ring binder. My photo-etch is done the same way. I think I might be a little "anal"...which is short for anal-retentive . Take Care, Jim
  2. I stumbled onto this website yesterday and saw how nice all of his stuff was. It is mostly all car/racing stuff, but I'm sure they be used on aircraft. I hope this wasn't already posted recently. If so, sorry. Take Care, Jim https://www.rbmotion.shop/shop?page=3
  3. https://www.forcesofvalor.com/product_grid.php?cid1=10&cid2=20&sid=7 Apparently, the hull is up to you? Take Care, Jim
  4. Ooooh! I do love me some Stirling! It looks like your off to a great start also! Can't wait for the next installment. Take Care, Jim
  5. Just got my e-mail confirming my package has been "forwarded to the packing station to be included in the next batch of shipment". Order #: 10992. Almost exactly a year to the date, ordered Aug. 30. WooHoo!!! Jim
  6. My order # 10992 was ordered on Aug. 30. The only notification I got was the e-mail they sent on June 1st describing the shipping schedule for the upcoming months and their move to a new facility by July. They also mentioned that they should have all orders shipped by mid-August. We'll see. It's just like getting your Tax Stamp from the ATF, it takes 8-12 months. So, you just your paperwork in and kind of forget about it. And then one day, out of the blue, you get your notification that it's here. Then you're like a kid on Christmas morning! Jim
  7. ICM Models Sikorsky CH-54A Tarhe US heavy helicopter - Pre-Order Item* (ICM53054) Kitlinx, llc https://www.kitlinx.com/cgi/display.cgi?item_num=ICM53054 It seems that Kitlinx has it for pre-order. Though $271 makes me think twice about getting one. Though I would LOVE to get one. Decisions, decisions...maybe if I sell a kidney...hmmm Jim
  8. I would love to get the A-4. By the depiction of the canopy, it looks like the M model. Which is fine by me. That is the sexiest of the Skyhawks.
  9. Just got the email about the second production run. It seems that because of several situations out of their control, they foresee shipping in mid march instead of the initial 1st week in February. Can't wait, Jim We have begun producing the resin casting of the Viggen parts. The canards, nose, tail, exhaust chamber, cannon, engine fan blade chamber and the external tank are currently the parts on the production line. Images of the produced parts will come along as we progress. The 3D printing of parts also continues with the largest and the trickiest part: the nozzle, of which 300+ copies have been produced so far. The 3D printing of the engine fan blades, intake ducts and the afterburner rings are also nearing completion. In December we have been reported by the resin manufacturer in Germany that they have had to slow down their production, caused by the Covid precautions implemented. We were expecting our order to be delivered by December but we have been informed that our resin will be shipped by 21 January, meaning that it will arrive in Istanbul and customs-cleared by the end of January. Our initial plan was to start the shipment of the kits by the first week of February, however this will put us behind the delivery schedule. We will try to cover some of it during the production phase, but considering the parallel production works of the Learjet line, the current estimate for the start of Viggen shipments is around mid-March. On the other hand, we have been receiving some queries regarding the current economic situation in our country and whether our activities would be adversely affected. The certain answer is “No”. Our company is part of a group companies with many other business activities and our brand is financially strong. It is true that we are nowadays having some currency fluctuations but our activities are 100% intact, as almost all our sales are made to the international market. We are progressing the design & production phases of our announced projects and we should just suffice to say that our designers are also working on two future and very exciting projects that we yet have not announced. The only thing that is slowing us down and obliging us the re-schedule our works is the pandemic, sometimes affecting the supply chain as explained above and still forcing us to keep the production teams apart, causing considerable productivity loss. Other than that we are completely ok and looking forward to bringing the kits we too as modelers ourselves have been longing for. We wish you a very nice, prosperous and healthy new year in 2022! Kind Regards, JETMADS Team
  10. There sees to be a lot of remorse for the price and not being able to afford it. I kind of get chocked up a little as well at the prices mentioned. And if it were a one time payment, I would probably also pass on this magnificent model. But, there seems to be many months before we might actually see this kit out and about. So, I do want one and I will now start saving in a "Impossible Lancaster Fund". 5 bucks here, six bucks there (I need to sacrifice my several times a week coffee shop addiction!) and by the time they release it, I will have most, if not all of the funds to purchase it. Several of my "large/expensive kits were done this way. Wow, now I can't wait!!! Take Care, Jim
  11. YAY!!! Just received my DN Models Splinter Camo Mask from Dimitar. Ordered it on Aug. 30th, so I am impressed with the ship time from Bulgaria to NW Florida. I also order my Viggen on the same day, order #10992. I always thought the Viggen a sexy plane (ESPECIALLY in the Splinter Camo!), but I never really had to have one. Until, that is, I saw the pics people were posting when they received their package. Now I feel like a 5 year old, waiting for Christmas to get here!!! Take Care, Jim
  12. I also love the America's Cup Yachts. But my favorite boats are the J-Class from the 30's. To me, they are the epitome of when beauty and technology intertwine. PLUS, there are several models available. I can't seem to post pics of kits, but the Amati 1/35 Endeavor kit is what your looking for. This a "plank-on-frame ship build". There is also a 1/80 scale resin hull available. The background/politics behind these syndicate boats are very intriguing. -
  13. One of the reasons I enjoy making models is that I have a fascination of "miniatures". Miniature anything, really. I like having as many details of the real thing incorporated into the miniature. And even though I marvel at someone who can build a truly detailed cockpit ( which is not me ), most, if not all of the labeling of switches and buttons and such is missing. And most photo-etch cockpit panel still lack convincing 3D effect. So, it still doesn't capture the look of the real thing. This seems to take care of that issue and I will completely embrace this new technology for my builds. The closer I can get to an "exact replica", the better. And even though WW1/WW2 planes are easier to have this detail, it is quite a different story for modern planes. So, I'm very excited about this. Jim
  14. I haven't seen this in any recent posts and I am very tempted... And if this is a re-post, I apologize. Jim https://www.hlj.com/1-32-scale-b-52h-stratofortress-cockpit-hph32044r
  15. Since we have a surge in 4 engine bombers on the market, my wish is for the Short Stirling. A beautiful design with above average handling traits. It also had a run in post war markings. Jim
  16. WOW!!! Amazing. I had to do a double take on the first 2 pics. I thought you were showing us the scheme on the real plane, and even saw the "ground crew" peeking from under the wing. Completely fooled! BEAUTIFUL paint job!
  17. They look GREAT! I'll take 2 sets of decals. Take Care, Jim
  18. I would LOVE a 1/32 B-29 (done right, meaning ACCURATE)! I also don't understand the idea that a finished model MUST reside in a "display case". I have seen several modelers hand their large planes from a hook in the wall, nose first. There is also the option of displaying them from the ceiling, hanging from a hook. I have several 1/32 4-engine bombers in my stash and intend on hanging them, nose first on the wall in my office. A display case shouldn't dictate whether or not I can get a model that I want. And WHEN they release a 1/32 B-52, I will definitely get one and hand it from the wall/ceiling. Just sayin'. Take Care, Jim
  19. It seems like takeoffs and landings they were in the fuselage (makes sense, it seems a bear to get in and out of) and loaded up at the Channel until the return. There are several books ("Bomb Run" by Spencer Dunmore, for one) that describes the hellish ride these turret guys endured during the War. I couldn't even comprehend climbing into those turrets every mission. They were brave, young men! Jim
  20. Hey guys. This video shows a gentleman who restores turrets. Very interesting. Take care, Jim https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad0dsgy32jc
  21. Hey guys. I'm not sure if this has been posted before. A pretty cool video showing a lot of interior detail of the Emerson turret. Take Care, Jim https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_eQx_7J2Gk
  22. GREAT information! I love the technical/mechanical aspect of modeling. Thank you both for sharing. Jim
  23. This is the prop I was referring to.
  24. Ray, That prop kind of looks like the Curtis Asymmetrical Paddle Blade. I think the N version got the Curtis Symmetrical Paddle Blade with tapered blade cuffs. The Trumpeter kit includes all four blades that were used for the P-47, but not the Symmetric Paddle with the tapered cuffs : 1.) Hamilton Standard 2.) Curtis Standard 3.) Curtis Asymmetrical Paddle 4.) Curtis Symmetrical Paddle Though, you could easily convert the non-tapered cuffs to tapered with some putty and sandpaper.
