  1. Since we have a surge in 4 engine bombers on the market, my wish is for the Short Stirling. A beautiful design with above average handling traits. It also had a run in post war markings. Jim
  2. WOW!!! Amazing. I had to do a double take on the first 2 pics. I thought you were showing us the scheme on the real plane, and even saw the "ground crew" peeking from under the wing. Completely fooled! BEAUTIFUL paint job!
  3. They look GREAT! I'll take 2 sets of decals. Take Care, Jim

    1/32 B-29?

I would LOVE a 1/32 B-29 (done right, meaning ACCURATE)! I also don't understand the idea that a finished model MUST reside in a "display case". I have seen several modelers hand their large planes from a hook in the wall, nose first. There is also the option of displaying them from the ceiling, hanging from a hook. I have several 1/32 4-engine bombers in my stash and intend on hanging them, nose first on the wall in my office. A display case shouldn't dictate whether or not I can get a model that I want. And WHEN they release a 1/32 B-52, I will definitely get one and hand it from the wall/ceiling. Just sayin'. Take Care, Jim
  5. Great photos, Jennings!!! Thanks! If he does this, I'm sure I'll get a SEVERAL copies. I love the -4 and -5 Corsairs. Take Care, Jim
  6. It seems like takeoffs and landings they were in the fuselage (makes sense, it seems a bear to get in and out of) and loaded up at the Channel until the return. There are several books ("Bomb Run" by Spencer Dunmore, for one) that describes the hellish ride these turret guys endured during the War. I couldn't even comprehend climbing into those turrets every mission. They were brave, young men! Jim
  7. Hey guys. This video shows a gentleman who restores turrets. Very interesting. Take care, Jim https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad0dsgy32jc
  8. Hey guys. I'm not sure if this has been posted before. A pretty cool video showing a lot of interior detail of the Emerson turret. Take Care, Jim https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_eQx_7J2Gk
  9. GREAT information! I love the technical/mechanical aspect of modeling. Thank you both for sharing. Jim
  10. This is the prop I was referring to.
  11. Ray, That prop kind of looks like the Curtis Asymmetrical Paddle Blade. I think the N version got the Curtis Symmetrical Paddle Blade with tapered blade cuffs. The Trumpeter kit includes all four blades that were used for the P-47, but not the Symmetric Paddle with the tapered cuffs : 1.) Hamilton Standard 2.) Curtis Standard 3.) Curtis Asymmetrical Paddle 4.) Curtis Symmetrical Paddle Though, you could easily convert the non-tapered cuffs to tapered with some putty and sandpaper. 12. Harold, I have the same info on the tire. It seems that they pulled a D from production to make the improvements, so most things were the same, except for the items that made it an N. Also, besides the 18" wing extension, it seems most of the improvements were not visible (i.e. automating some control systems, autopilot, engine differences, etc.). If you do have the TBM wheels available, I would love to see about ordering a few sets. Thanks, Jim
  13. Are you guys talking about 1/32 or 1/48? Because I haven't seen anyone make a 1/32 P-47N wheel. Except for Jerry Rudman and I'm pretty sure his are OOP. The tire should be the same dimension as the D, but the hub has these "slots" around the edge of the rim and 8 holes not 6. I think they are very similar to the TBM Avenger design, but I'm not sure on size. And nobody makes those either. I would LOVE a set because Trumpeters is a real disappointment. Jim
  14. Hope everyone had a happy and family filled Thanksgiving yesterday. ( I know that most people think that is mutually exclusive, haha). And I definitely ate TOO much. Got my "shipping label created" email for my HKM Lanc from Free Time Hobbies this morning! Should be here the beginning of next week. CAN'T WAIT!!! Now, making me a plate of some T-giving left-overs (my favorite!). Jim
  15. You mean they would sell "several". Hahahaha!!!!!
  16. Great job with the build. Its looking good. I would also like to get the conversion set. Jim
  17. Well, Free Time Hobbies has the Lanc for Pre-Order. The site has the retail at $360.00 with their price being $329.98. I couldn't stop what happened next My e-mail said "summer 2018" release, so that's right around the corner, right? I CAN"T WAIT!!! Jim

    KH P51H????

Very sexy plane. I would definitely get a couple if they are accurate. Jim
  19. I can't imagine all the love for the F4F Wildcat. It must be one of the ugliest planes of WW2 and reminds me of the Brewster Buffalo, another profile that only a mother could love . And I'm not sure that we really need ANOTHER Luftwaffe plane. It would be nice if it were the P-47, but I wouldn't mind the C.205 Veltro or even a Lavochkin La-9. At any rate, I can't wait to see what t is. Jim
  20. Hi everyone, I just received my RF-8G conversion kit and I would like to comment on it: 1.) For shipping, it was wrapped in heavy shipping paper. All the seams were aligned and the ends were centered and matching. Being an "anal" Christmas present wrapper (just ask my wife, I use a ruler, haha), I appreciate the precise corners and attention to details. 2.) The handwritten delivery address was VERY neat and I love the neatness and script chosen. I have pictures, but can't get Photo-Shop to cooperate. 3.) The box was well packed. The time they took to ensure the contents arrived intact was commendable. It looks like I purchased an expensive Faberge Egg. Well packed. 4.) The castings and engineering were "EXQUISITE". If Tamiya had done resin, Fisher Model & Pattern is what it would look like. I cannot say enough about the fidelity of the castings. I have his B-58 intakes, RB-51 Red Baron kit, Sea Fury Kit and Space Shuttle Rocket Upgrades, and they are museum quality items. Anyway, I thought I would toss my 2 cents in for Paul. I LOVE Paul's products and will always look forward to purchasing what I can. Take Care, Jim
  21. Ordered mine on 11/13. It should be here shortly. I must say I NEVER thought in a million years there would be a Spiteful to come out. It is on my top 5 list and I couldn't be happier. And Graham has been wonderful in answering my questions on ordering this lovely aircraft. Jim
  22. I only have a few: 1.) F4U-5N 2.) P-51H 3.) F2G-1 4.) SR-71
  23. GAWD, that's a sexy plane!!! Man, I'm getting two, or three....maybe four. I cannot wait Jim
  24. Right, I plan on using the rear cockpit bulkhead from the Trumpeter kit and also cut out the turtle deck to replace it on the Tamiya. It seems do-able unless there is something I am not thinking through. Oh, well...we'll see. Jim
