Congratulations on making your goal. Like Gaz, I gave up road riding after my last collision. I got hit on a bike path by a driver who refused to believe I had the right of way. I've stuck to mountain biking and all my collisions now are of the tree hugging kind. Carl

Most of their other 1/72 airliners are under $300. The 1/48 B-2 is $359 and I think their most expensive kit.

There's going to be a 1/72 vac kit of the An-225 coming from a company called Titan Models. I don't know if it would be an easier build or not. The details will be 3D printed if it's like any of their other kits. https://www.titanmodelkits.com/future-releases.html I'm tempted by their 1/48 Shuttle stack. Carl

Front Mission was a great video game on the PlayStation so when I saw this boxed set of kits I picked it up.

I like haggis too. Can't blame the Scottish wife for that as she's vegetarian but my father in law loves me for it.
-
You forgot the poutine.
-
Yup, roasted: Or bbq'd: Bbq'd is much easier to make. Sue makes the vegetarian sides to cover the non meat eaters in our family. Carl

Lifelike did those markings but for a bubbletop XVI.

I've got RCAF decals for my Colonial Viper so I'm right there with you.
-
I was able to dig out my kit. Here's the colour information from the instructions. I'll scan the decals tomorrow. I've forgotten just how big this kit is. The box say the wingspan is 17". Carl

There are masks available. Culttvman usually has them but are currently out of stock. https://www.culttvmanshop.com/Classic-Raider-paint-masks-from-Aztek-Dummy_p_3025.html I've got the Moebius kit in the stash if you want a scan of that decal sheet. Carl

Anyone having trouble posting Smugmug pics?

Use the Embed Photo option instead. Then pick a size, I usually go 600x800 and jpeg for format. That works for me. Carl -
To Those who have built-Which Tamiya F4U Variant?
BloorwestSiR replied to Citadelgrad's topic in LSP Discussion
Thanks @CRAZY IVAN5! I've built the birdcage as well. There's another -1A languishing on the bench of doom plus 1 of each in the stash. The Corsair is my favourite prop fighter. -
To Those who have built-Which Tamiya F4U Variant?

My favourite would be the -1A as well. Like the OP, I grew up with Baa Baa Black Sheep and that made quite the impression. Plus if you can't decide on GSB or tri-colour, you can do both on the same -1A : Carl -
At least yours stays in the box. Ours has decided that's too limiting and wants a better view of what I'm doing.

Thanks! I found the scheme on a sheet of masks made by Montex. I couldn't verify its accuracy but liked the scheme so I did it anyways.

The biggest challenge is getting the resin MLG bay to fit and not foul on the bottom of the cockpit. I did a number of dry fits to make sure and then the rest went together ok. Carl

Upcoming Japanese Model Show - New Tamiya Releases?
BloorwestSiR replied to John1's topic in LSP Discussion
Not this one. At least not according to the pile in our garage after this past weekend. Granted, not all of those are mine. A few belong to my sons and the VW Bus is my wife's. There's close to another dozen in the house. Almost all are Tamiya. The big money maker for Tamiya is their Mini4WD series which being 1/32 means they haven't given up on the scale. Carl -
Hobbyeasy usually has them in stock as well. Carl

From what I remember, the Meteor was part of Wingscale, the folks originally behind the HK B-25 kits. When that deal fell apart, the Meteor was far enough along that HK was able to finish and release it. Not unlike the Border/Wingnuts Lancaster. Carl

Thanks Andy and keV. It's a big plane so not the easiest to move. Hopefully I'll be able to get some decent photos soon. Carl

Just noticed that the kit listed above is 1/48. Carl

According to their Facebook page, they've had to close down for a month as they've lost their business insurance and are in the process of finding a new provider. I think I must have just gotten my order in before the closure. Hopefully they find one soon and get back to business. Carl
