Thanks Matt, I originally shot an aluminum finish over the black, but felt it was too shiny. I gambled the dry brush would look more cast like, I’m pretty pleased with the result so far. Ryan

That is good advice. I wear them (trifocals) and find myself using +4 readers for modeling work.

Forgot to note , the finish is Model Air black with a dry-brushing of Model Air Aluminum. The splotchy black should even out in the clear coat. Ryan

Hey folks, got some painting done finally, here are some engine shots.....not complete but getting there. The idea to build it all first then paint is making detail painting a bit difficult. Albert you should be fine with NO clear coat. Think of it this way, if you did clear it and then apply the masks, your newly painted insignia wont match the finish of the rest of the model. (It will then need a clear)

Heading back in 2020 if all works out.

Went a couple of years ago, it is quite a show. There are marked differences in that show and US types approaching that size. The weather was a bit chilly, but no big deal.
