I gave them and wash of brownish grey after painting them overall off white. I also had to add the ropes and lines that were used to furl them. And of course,the lines at the corners that controlled them. I always thought it took a freekin genius to be the saling master on one of these. There must be about 500 different sropes and lines to know by heart well enough to give commands in the heat of battle or turbulence of a storm. RESPECT!!
