I was going to stick to field green for my KHM manufacturers build, but the P-47 style flat dark green is what I have seen most...............and having just painted a KHM OV-10 in field green I can agree 100% that it is quite a bit lighter than DDG, and it much more akin to an olive color.

I think Ill likely invest in some FS34092 for mine.

Vallejo makes Interior Green which is a dead match for DDG. Be careful, they also make US Interior Green that's closer to Chromate Green.

Hi Guys,

I don't build often enough to know the various paints that are out there, but I did like WEM's version of DDG.  I sent them a sample some years ago, and they seemed to do a good job with it.

One day soon I hope to work on a 1/32nd scale birdcage Corsair, and I'm going to need to come up with a suitable substitute...

Cheers,

In both Dana's book and the "in-action" one, there are some pics of a silver-yellow wings Kingfisher with an EDO float ... No need to go with a camoed version or one with landing gear if you want a yellow-wing bird.

Correct, but not the two in the kit: USS Pennsylvania and Arizona. If I am not mistaken, those birds all had the Vought floats (or so I was told). Glad to be wrong, of course.

Greetings everyone.  I will admit I know nothing on the Kingfisher's.  I do have Paul Stillwell's book on the Battleship Arizona An Illustrated History and on page 225 they do have two pictures of the OS2U Kingfisher aircraft of the Arizona.  Can one of the Moderator's tell me if I give credit that the pictures came from this book can I post them here for someone to tell everyone about the floats or does someone else here have this book?

Here is two pictures out of the Paul Stillwell's book on the Battleship Arizona An Illustrated History on page 225.  Not sure if anyone can tell from these pictures the question on the float.

The telltale is the part of the float protruding behind the rear central support, and the shape of the nose of the float, rounded ...

Both say "EDO" ...
