kensar
I've been wanting to do an automotive subject from the early 1950's Grand Prix races, but there are no really good models. I came across this Heller kit and decided this was it. I upgraded a number of items, the spoked wheels being a must do. I also put in a wire grill and added a number of small details on the body and hood. The dashboard is made from aluminum HVAC tape that was 'machine turned' with a Dremel stone. The instrument bezels are turned on the lathe and aftermarket instrument faces were used. The drum brakes are turned aluminum as are the wheel hubs. The rims are turned from ABS pipe and the spokes are monofilament fishing line. Thanks for looking and comments are welcome.
