CATCplSlade
...without affecting the clear part underneath or the acrylic paint on the painted portion. I know alcohol will remove the residue but the paint is Tamiya acrylic that I thin with alcohol. Residue is too sticky to rub off.
TonyT
Will something like blue tack lift it?
ssculptor
Back 40 years ago when I was into old picture postcards we used Ronson lighter fluid to dissolve tape adhesive. Works pretty good. Do NOT use Zippo lighter fluid as that left stains on the paper. I use Ronson lighter fluid today to remove old price stickers from things I'm offering on eBay. In the USA it is available in yellow plastic bottles. Stephen
CATCplSlade
I've heard about lighter fluid. It won't fog clear plastic? I ask because of course it's a canopy. Edited July 28, 2014 by CATCplSlade
BloorwestSiR
Use a fresh piece of the same tape. Dab the spot where the residue is on the canopy. The fresh tape should lift off the residue since tape likes to stick to itself. But usually when you don't want it to. Carl D Bellis
krow113
Cyano accelerator works to remove adhesive residue, if the zen trick wont do it.

LSP_Kevin
Try a cotton bud moistened with some WD40. I've used this to successfully remove BMF adhesive from canopies, which had frames painted with Tamiya acrylics, and it didn't damage the paint at all. Just go lightly! Zero77
You can try white spirit or white gas (not sure of the english name for this one, but it is usually used as an enamel or oil thinner), they wont attack the plastic nor any acrylic paint. If you want to be sure what you intent to use wont fog your canopy, you can try first on an old scrap clear part. or even on a clear sprue bit.
