I am retired USAF.  I was on duty when belenko brought hs over.  For weeks, I'd sit by the teletype intel feed to read about it. It was fascinating

The SR-71 was in fact what motivated the Soviets to develop the MiG-25.

Actually it flew almost a year earlier.

It is probably more correct to say the Mig was a natural step in defenses in a time when the bombers where the big threat. That changed quickly with introduction of ICBMs, and the tactical recce variant thus become the more important variant.

I know it would be a HUGE fighter in 32nd, and lots would in fact do Belenkos scheme, but we have all sorts of giant 2 and 4 engine heavys coming in our scale so this seems like a decent size even for as huge of an aircraft as it was.

 

Id buy a 1/32nd Foxbat in a NYC min...............

And I guess we would soon see at IPMS some diorama of the un-earthing of Iraqi Foxbats. Not to mention one with that Abrams running over one airframe.

Agree Brian - those recce-strike -25RB versions really looked the part, though I'd actually prefer a Teflon Grey or NMF one.
