well i am pretty satisfied how the hunter turned out, but still....

its not THAT breathtaking, i still feel i could do Russ more justice

so i pulled out one of the more involved conversions, the old revell MIG 29 kit i got for half price at the LHS some time ago

i am not sure if i can finish it until the november 15th deadline, but i want to try

when i got the kit, i immediately ordered a CAM pit from johnsmodels for the fear of it going OOP

it doesnt seem like there will be a new resin pit, since the revell kit is OOP too

additional i will try to correct the fuselage spine and the LERXs, they are incorrectly reproduced in the kit

Now THIS I am really looking forward to!

Haven't seen one of these built before.

No doubt she will be a beauty Karl!

Hope you have got a good scheme for her.

hope this turns out ok, phil. at least one guy is interested :speak_cool:

i first turned my attention to the fuselage top for modifying the LERX

a friend sent me pics of his modifications that i use as a guide, so it has been done before

this and the changes to the spine are all one one kit part, so if i mess up badly, i can try and get a new fuselage top :ninja:

this is the line i will cut along

this is how it now looks if you bend it apart :speak_cool:

i will fabricate an insert out of plastic strips to fill the gap and be able to blend the sides smooth once again

i decided to add the resin blocks that replace the louvers later, to not have a weak spot in the middle (those are mostly closed on the real plane, therefore the replacement in closed position)

stay tuned

Hi Karl,

I'll follow this one with interest. I have the same boxing in the stash and aim to re-build the Fulcrum using all of the updates from Zactomodels.

I know about the engine trunking being totally the wrong shape but I had n't heard about the LERX issues.

Can you detail what seems to be the problem with the kit shape please?

I look forward to your next update. Keep us posted :speak_cool:

Karl,

I watch all your builds with great interest.

I really like your work.

I didn't realise there was so much cutting involved but I'm sure you will do your usual great job!

Steady hand mate!
