Radub
The wheel wells were lined with plastic card shaped around the "former/template". I used two sheets per side for strenght. The angles and position of the "former/template" was throroughly checked and rechecked to match the drawings before any glue was applied.
Radub
In the end, the central part was very flimsy, so I glued two strips of card on either side of the central wheel well and then everything was filled with Miliput. This made the part very strong.

Radub
Thanks Jerry. Clean... but messy nevertheless. The part was then sanded and finished inside to fit inside the wing root.

Radub
Now, to me this is one of the most beautiful aircraft profiles. But I am biased... I love this bird.

LSP_Kevin
Lovely work Radu. It reminds me that I need to pull the Combat kit out of the stash and do something with it before you're done with this one! Kev

Radub
Thanks everyone for your very kind words. I need to pull the Combat kit out of the stash and do something with it As I said before, any resemblance between the Combat IAR80 and the real IAR80 is purely accidental. Radub
More photos. These show the amount of trims, shims, bits of filler here, some miliput there, lots of MrSurfacer everywhere, which occupied most of my last few months. It took a lot of sanding to get it here. Anyway, the fuselage is almost done. After this, the next photos will show the fuselage covered in MrSurfacer.
