OzzieNick Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Greetings Folks only just stumbled over the news that Shapeways has gone under. shills I haven’t shopped there for a while, I have no interest/ Skill / motivation to acquire a 3D printer and print my own stuff….. So is there an alternative marketplace for 3D scale modelling bits, or, ……. BiggTim 1
TankBuster Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 (edited) I dont know wether this site is as good but they have files for download. Cheers. https://cults3d.com/en Edited November 12, 2024 by TankBuster
LSP_Kevin Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 As far as I'm aware there's no direct replacement for the services that Shapeways offered. There are plenty of places to download STL files (free and paid) to print yourself, but I'm not aware of any company that offers a print-on-demand service for custom designs in a wide range of materials. Ali62 Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 These guys do, I have looked at them fairly often but not used them, with me now doing all my own printing. https://i.materialise.com/en LSP_Kevin and Landrotten Highlander 1 1
thierry laurent Posted January 8 Posted January 8 FYI Shapeways is back but for legal reasons linked to the bankruptcy of its prior life the marketplace was emptied. So this will take time to see them reaching a level of offer comparable to the old one...
LSP_Ray Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Yes, they are setting up a revamped marketplace but it will probably take awhile before it is repopulated. Cult3D and Etsy are two of the places I have dealt with in the meantime. Hans 1
