  1. Here's a scan from the above referenced Linewrights book. I like it. With just some minor weathering/accents, this would be a fine looking machine in model form.
  2. Nice review on the E.IV, and I also enjoyed seeing the Air Force Phantom. The IAR looks promising too.
  3. I don't even have the Airfix 1:24 kit yet.
  4. I think if I were in a real rush, and money was also a consideration, I'd just go with the Tamiya F-4J, and do it up as per the Linewrights book on the British J Tiger Squadron machines.
  5. My brother referred to those as SOB seats; hard right turn and,... slide over baby!
  6. No doubt, needed one to wedge under the tape to make it meet the heads properly. I had forgotten all about that. I wore out my Deep Purple Live in Japan 8 track, and my player(s), ate several others. Nothing quite so disconcerting as seeing eighteen feet of tape hanging out of the case, all twisted like climbing rope.
  7. This is as far as I ever got, though I'd still like to finish her one day.
  8. I am curious about one thing: why is your old Revell Zero painted in a tricolor scheme?
  9. Man, I hate to take a pristine kit and chop it up. You have more brass than I sir.
  10. OK fellas, once again it's time for me to grovel before you. The following section of the book database needs some help: La Bancarella Aeronautica The 5 books missing covers are: Aeri Franchesi nella Regia Aeronautica Caccia Reggiane Cansa FC.20 Gli Altri Tedeschi: Ju 88, Fi 156, Do 217, Ju 52, DFS 230, Go 242 Martin Baltimore The La Bancarella Aeronautica database listing, (public). As is typical, if you have any (or all), of these books and can scan the covers, sending them either to K1 or myself, we'd be deeply appreciative. Thanks,
  11. OK, I had a look through one of my own threads (Mig-21MF), and Kagemusha had given me the link. HPH makes a set of 1:32 UB-16 pods that should look great on your Frogfoot.
  12. These are 1:35, but might look OK. Somebody was working on a 1:32 set of UB-16 and/or UB-32 pods, but darned if I can remember who.
  13. Happy B-Day Phil!! Hope it's a good one for you.
  14. We've been trying to also scan the decals sheets (when present), for the Kagero entries. Here's the Kagero Mig-23MF link.
  15. Brian, that scheme is depicted in this book by La Bancarella Aeronautica. How accurate it is, I have no idea.
  16. Yep, Squadron lists them as in stock as I write this.
  17. Looks good to me. I'm not sure why, but it seems that the land based Corsairs looked even skankier that the sea based ones did.
  18. I too have sometimes fallen prey to the "more is better" methods, and ended up with plaid stripes all over the place, a totally unrealistic and counterproductive effort, in my opinion. I have since (on occasions where I actually paint anything), tried to just modify the base colors to a sense of randomness that seems natural and consistent (at least to some degree), with the way the aircraft actually look, while keeping a certain amount of "artistic license" to embellish as I see fit, (and I do have a license). I do tend to agree that many of my brethren get way too overzealous with the striped ***** ape approach.
  19. I hope it all turns out for the best for her. Keep strong.
  20. According to the Detail & Scale book on the P-40 (Part 1), the B and C models were interior green, but I don't know that I'd bet on that.
  21. From what I've seen, the Legend stuff is pretty good. As to interior colors, I can check.
