  7. Move your mouse to look around. Pretty cool video - and there are several others similar to this one. I had to download a 360 VR app to view on my phone but it worked fine on my desktop computer. Jon
  8. Aces High: The Heroic Saga of the Two Top-Scoring American Aces of World War II I enjoyed this book Chris. Lightning Strike is also interesting reading. The early Lightnings are so very shark-like. Looking forward to seeing this one finished Jon
  9. * KOKU FAN FAOW #124 KAWANISHI N1K, N1K1, N1K2-J "REX", "GEORGE
  10. Maru, Usually you hear the phrase... "Clipped, cropped and clapped" Refering to a Spitfire modded for low altitude dogfighting. Cipped wings Cropped supercharger turbine vanes Clapped meaning not much use at higher altitudes https://books.google.com/books?id=RkeIAwAAQBAJ&pg=PT256&lpg=PT256&dq=clipped+cropped+and+clapped&source=bl&ots=Ft1BXJZfYr&sig=lBmvOesdkrJJEqPB87xVKV0hYUI&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CGYQ6AEwEWoVChMIq9i68JDIyAIVzHc-Ch169AbA#v=onepage&q=clipped%20cropped%20and%20clapped&f=false Jon

  12. Without digging through my Trump kits off the top of my head the Trump cowl tapers back to front. The old Revell is more cylindrical but front panel line is not in right spot. Maybe somebody else can confirm my recollection. Jon
  13. Sweet looking Eagle!!!! Very nice metalic and titanium finish. Jon
  14. Way to go Harv! Glad you have settled in and are building again! I need to do the same. Looking forward to seeing this one finished. Jon
  15. Remember the vapor ware 1/32 F35 by Lindberg? http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/2/t/121007.aspx
  16. The hottest and only 5th gen fighter? You bet ...because, America! Lot of Euro-centric prejudice in the responses. Maybe because they cant afford to build anything similar. I like the F-22A and although the F-35 initially repulsed me - it is starting to grow on me. If you think about it WWII props are very very crude and low tech although 1939-45 fighters is my preferred era and modeling subject. Jon
  17. This gear breakage is probably one of the most common hazards of plastic modeling. You will just add to your skillset by facing this problem head on after calm deliberate consideration Mal. You can and should approach this temporary setback as you have approached the other 99% of the Corsair, Calmly, Cleanly and Expertly. We have faith in your skills, and so should you. Relax and press on after regrouping. Jon
  18. Yes the tire mismatch would highlight the issues with the earliest corsairs. The oleo compression and rebound issues that VF17 and Vought worked through To carrier qualify the corsair. Also Cmdr Tommy Blackburn had a running bet about not blowing too many tires That he later collected on during the Empress Augusta Bay CAP. This is mentioned in the book "The Jolly Rogers". http://www.erichammelbooks.com/books/f_the-jolly-rogers.php Very nice job on your corsair Mal. You have done a great job documenting your work as well. Cheers Jon
  19. Yes shadows happen in 3d cad. Renders use ray tracing. The engine stand render has shadows and appears to float above the ground plane. Solidworks looks that way sometimes even when resting on the ground plane. Jon
