  1. Glad you said that!!
  2. Presumably any hop to a G-10 and wishing to maximize commonality of parts would be a G-10 with large wheel wing bulges, that's about all i have got I am still contemplating just how quickly I need to build all my DML Emils before Kotare bring their guns to bear on that type!
  3. If I had to choose, I would take fidelity of structure over ease of painting 100/100 Masking wheels in 1/32 may not be the most fun thing, but it's far more fun than endlessly fiddling with wheels and oleos trying to get the alignment right I wonder whether some of the answers on BritMod are coming from a smaller scale perspective? Of course, if they can solve both issues, then all the better! Nick PS Am i the only one who watched the Sam Dwyer interview and noted Mark R mentioned the Bf109 Emil as a [and i paraphrase] 'must do - if we have Hurricanes and Spitfires from the Battle of Britain, we have to have 109s with all their varied paint schemes etc' ?!
  4. Doing them individually yields amazing individual rivets, but it’s very hard to get them all lined up correctly, spacing etc I am surprised that no-one has made a rivet wheel but with each ‘point’ on the wheel like Bob / MDC’s tool do that, and you have winner
  5. welcome Sam for those don’t know Sam, he does some epically good WWII armour and I’m sure his foray into aircraft will be just as good!
  6. that's a super challenging scheme to replicate - free hand or otherwise! The result looks eye catching, impressive and not at all 'off' but it's a tough gig to get spot on - fwiw (and I realise that is very *very* little lol) i think your squiggles are maybe a little too sparse and sweeping, and the original pic shows more of them and tighter together, but hey you are far braver than i am attempting it! Thanks for sharing Nick (who is languishing in an armour build which has been dragging on for what seems like forever!)
  7. Wonderfully executed John and as always thank you for taking us along for the ride in such a detailed yet clear and helpful way. I love the overall look topside; my preference is for a more 'rugged' finish but that's just a personal choice, rather than a criticism. The panel lines on the undersides are a little stark for me, but again just personal pref. I can't help but feel Italeri should have done better with these new Italian fighters though - they are charging Tamiya / Kotare ++ money, and yet what they are churning out is Revell quality. It's taken a great craftsman like yourself to really showcase their products to the max - they should be paying you lol. Thanks again for the journey - I haven't chimed in much but I can assure you I follow your builds all the way. Waiting for the next project Nick
  8. looks cool i guess not designed for those with long flowing locks or you'll be wrapped round that driver band before you can say '1970s engineering' lol
  9. yes i saw this - very cool indeed the Hassy D kit has been all over ebay at pretty decent prices (generally sub £45) so i have picked up a few i was trying to persuade him to do an upgrade / plug and play type replacement for the rear of the engine area which you can see up through the landing gear bay but sadly no dice i think he will be including wing changes where appropriate hopefully this will be a good seller for him once complete
  10. these big old birds need to be built - glad you are showing them some love!
  11. thank you this same article appeared in my FB feed… clicked it but gave up after about 5 secs
  12. Tolga definitely get some masks cut! plenty on here to help you ”I didn’t have any decals” is so 1/72 🙂 reference question for those who know Defiants: was the wing walk / non-slip section really that pale blue-ish colour? anyone know why / what it was made of? (or is it just me being colourblind?!)
  13. I'm confused On the one hand we have someone saying the v shape dent / raised bit a feature of all G-K seats, and then a picture of a seat where it’s clearly not present so @MikeMaben is the seat in your pic an original which comes from a G-K airframe? I don’t understand your comment about the ‘top one’ etc. @Antonio Argudo can you comment on the seat shown in Mike’s post? Thanks all
  14. Hi Peter, I will admit I can’t help thinking you would have sold five times as many kits if the price was say £150? But then again I guess it’s probably costing you north of £200 to make, and God knows how many hours you have put into it, so maybe that was never a realistic prospect? I’m sure the initial run will sell out and if that means you get funds (and experience) that help you in future projects, then it’s still all good. I wonder whether initial buyers might be like YouTube patreons etc, and maybe have some privilege or discount on future projects? I can’t participate at £295 btw so this is not me angling for future freebies News of the project is now starting to percolate outside of LSP btw - lots of excitement! Wishing you all the best with this and future projects Nick
  15. Whether one likes the Defiant or not, that’s pretty damn cool box art!
  16. doesn't the Trumpy Ju87 have a rear fuselage that looks like it's been put on a medieval rack? And i thought this was a characteristic that is shared into their 1/24 offerings and their G models please do check as i could be mis-remembering?
  17. wow that looks amazing
  18. they only really care about 1/72 and some 1/48 most of the time shame, because there is a huge well of knowledge at BM, but it does feel a bit 70s/80s on occasion and woe betide anyone who casts aspersions in Airfix’s direction!
  19. it may still come, but Mark Robson also seemed to give a sneaky hint of a P-47 when stating Kotare's position on providing engines in one of the many Facebook exchanges today...I wonder if I was the only one who noticed that amongst the Hurricane frenzy?!
