I prefer the Aires cockpit set with the quickboost seat with belts. By DS, they had been fitted with the Stencil ejection seats.

On the real Ju87G, both of the cannon pods are identical. In other words, the ammo feed and shell collector chutes are on the same sides regardless of whichever wing it was carried under. Trumpeter mistakenly assumed the pods were handed and made the pods mirror images.

Sweet! That's my ultimate goal too. I got the E wing sprue from Tamiya a while ago in preparation for doing an IAF Spit.

Harv, did you mean to post this in your Spitfire build thread? -
Another HB Spitfire Mk. Vb/trop

Trop is short for Tropicalized, which means the aircraft has modifications for a desert or dusty environment. The obvious visual difference is the larger air filter under the nose. HTH -
$100, in stock, free shipping in the US. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFRHM&P=ML

Haven't used it yet. I'm letting it properly age.

Do you mean the Dangerous RF-5E conversion? http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/details/dan/detail_dan_32005.shtml I got mine years ago off eBay.

I also like the desert scheme, which is fortunate since the kit only comes with the tropical filter intakes. The regular carb intake isn't in the box. -
Obligatory box shot and aftermarket. On the way, Master 20mm barrels, Lifelike Decals, and Xtradecals.

KH 1/32 Kingfisher available from Sprue Brothers

Freetime Hobbies is going to sell the kit for $75, and usually Scale Hobbyist is even cheaper. I think I'll wait and see what the Xmas sales are. -
The D/E Sidewinders in all of the kits are wrong. They are all the same and supposed to be Es, but have issues for the AF Phantoms, and we're not used on the USN/USMC F-4s. Also, the stabs have the arrowhead stiffener molded on them which may not be correct, depending on the time period. I don't consider the lack of the centerline tank in the AF kits a big accuracy issue, as they weren't always carried. Similarly, the lack of slatted wings in the E kit isn't an inaccuracy as the kit represents an early F-4. The most accurate in the box kit may be the F-4EJ kit as it has AIM-9L/Ms. Otherwise, it has the same common issues (wing dihedral, etc.) as all of the Tamiya kits.
-
The standard J kit also has the centerline tank. The Marines kit adds outboard weapons pylons, and the MERs and bomb sprues from the C/D kit to the J plastic.

Trumpeter 1/24 Hurricane detail set
Dave Williams replied to Dave Williams's topic in LSP Discussion
Thanks. I went ahead and ordered a set. -
Anyone used Trumpeter's own PE set for their big Hurricane? http://www.squadron.com/1-24-Trumpeter-Hurricane-Mk-II-C-Trop-Detail-Set-p/tr06604.htm Not expecting a lot, but for only $10, I figure there may be some usable parts in there.

The Rhino Hornet exhausts are fine. Not undersized like the Aires sets. -
Quick help with HK purchase today

I'll buck the trend and say the Do335 for the following reasons: It's a more detailed kit. The Do335 engines alone are more detailed than anything in the B-25 kit. The B-25 is more like a scaled up 1/48 kit. It's more accurate. There are some issues with the engines and props in the B-25 kit. It's different and more interesting than the B-25. IMHO, the only pros for the B-25 is that it's well known and there are a few more decal options for it. -
I've got the Trumpeter Hurricane IIc and its a very nice kit. The engine is apparently unchanged from the Mk. I kit, which is wrong for the Mk. II, but if you don't display the engine, it doesn't matter. Thrown in some Airscale IP decals and Master 20 mm barrels, any you're good to go.

Kind of surprised that the VIIF lasted this long. -

Since I'm doing the German version, I scratched up some air scoops. -
Tried both the white and black primer from AK Interactive, and wasn't impressed. It scratched pretty easy. In my experience, the Vallejo primers are the way to go.

The barrels are from Master. http://freetimehobbies.com/1-35-master-models-barrels-m197-three-barrelled-rotary-20mm-cannon-turned-barrels-with-etched-barrel-clamps-used-on-ah-1-cobra/ The breech mechanism is from the Verlinden detail set shown in the first photo. HTH

A small update. Been cleaning up the resin parts and assembling the Master M197 barrels. My Cobra Company set only had two of the armor plate wings for the seat, so I had to make the other two. Finally, since I wasn't going to show the engine, I blanked off the opening with sheet plastic, which also improved the fit of the cowling.
