Not a thing. I have all the parts here but my time has been taken up with so many real life projects and i need a new compressor i wont be able to make any progress untill next month so thats me out of the group build. I will ask for this thread to be moved to the WIP section when i can make a start.

All the parts for this build are here but my time seems to be spent doing a million other projects. Just found i need a new compressor to as my one of 10 years decided enough was enough. Im hoping to get started early next month,

I will post a link tomorrow. I got a chance to take a few of R4118 the other week. Ive also got photos of all the radios etc behind the cockpit if you really want to go to town.
-
Are you opening up the gun bays? Ive got some referance photos of the gun bays if you need them.
-
Ive seen that but sadly im skint for a little bit, just staring a new job so im awaiting first pay day. Hopefully another comes up after that.

Lovely work so far and insparation for me. Im gathering after market parts to do a pair as i have a montex masks set with two nice schemes i like. Im having a hard time finding the kit despite Revell re releasing the kit not long ago.
-
A great start and inspiration for when i start mine.

Im just having a clear up of almost finished builds and then i need to sort out my bench before starting any more models. Its going to be at least 3 weeks before i start due to work commitments to but i cant wait to get started.

Not yet. Clearing a few bits off my bench first and then i must have a major tidy up of my bench before starting something new. Ill be posting some RFI threads soon so do look out for them.

I will watch with interest how you tackle it. It looks more realistic than a resin instrument panel for sure. -

Im also a fan of the box top camo and maybe ill build one in that scheme soon. -

How are you finding that instrument panel? I am tempted to buy one for my build. -
Im not going to go crazy for after market but a cockpit set and wheels will make a difference i hope. I may go with the gun bay set as it would look nice with them open. As for the Mk22/24 ive built two before (one i converted into a Seafire 47) and its not an easy build but im looking forward to the challenge. I will be adding the Iconair cowling set as thats one area i feel is a let down. Im also considering resin wheels, brass gun barrels from Master models and maybe even a resin cockpit from mastercasters. Decals will come from Xtradecal as i do fancy having a crack an a natural metal scheme, brave i know. I dont mind spending £20 or so on a kit and a bit on after market to improve a kit. I dont like spending £100+ on a kit and still needing after market. Ill be correcting a few inaccuracies but not going crazy.

I wonder if this conversion is still available? Id like to buy one if it is.

Ill be starting my entry for this one in the new year using the Revell kit. Im not sure what i will do in terms of paint scheme but it may well be the kit option for P7849 based at RAF Fowlmere which is not a million miles from where i live. I will be adding some after market parts to the kit, namely the Eduard Brassin cockpit set along with SAC undercarriage legs and resin wheels. If i get time i plan also to have a crack at the Revell MK22/24 kit.

Ill watch this with interest.
