  1. No problem as long as they deliver, which they seem to be doing. That appears to be their business model, maybe that is why they call every release a "project".
  2. Best news I have had today. I was not very early to place an order so I do not expect a shipment before September as they say they will dispatch about 15 kits a day, but no problem. I am just happy to see that a 1:32 Viggen is now a reality. If ever anybody from Jetmads reads this: Please make a 1:32 Draken!
  3. That is most excellent and useful information, gentlemen, thank you for sharing those. They must be a real reference to every modeler, master or not.
  4. Excellent build, that F-4C. But I hate to see wrong angle of open canopies when a model is built with so much skill and mastership. By the way, the design of the kit intakes is a killer!
  5. Looking forward to seeing any progress!
  6. I have built three short nose Phantoms of Tamiya. They are the king, because there's no other king currently. Not perfect, not bad either. Aftermarket improvements would make great differences and there is plenty of options thankfully.
  7. Tnarg, on the previous page, says he had a message from Jetmads where they say there will be an update at the end of June. That was the regular pace, updates coming at the end of each month, before they had to make a pause. Now that they say so and seeing their latest Facebook posts, I am expecting an update before June is over.
  8. That's exactly what I asked them 20 minutes ago via FB and this is how they just replied: "Please rest assured that the landing gears hold completely perfect. Otherwise there is no way that we present them to modelers as they are. We have carried out four tests, two of which were endurance tests and the other two as load bearing tests. The gears have been loaded 1.2kg for endurance tests, which is more than double the weight of the model and they did not show slightest deformation after one month. The second test was test-to-fail, which yielded a maximum load of 3.3kg before the gears collapsed. The size of the sections and perpendicular-to-ground geometry of the struts without any shear forces make a very robust design, not leaving any space for concern." Fair enough for me. It appears the SAAB engineers have done a pretty well job for Jetmads too
  9. Sorry to hear about KH. Problematic sides of their kits were fairly balanced by the fact that they were subjects no other manufacturer offered. I have built the F-5 and Mirage 2000, I am quite satisfied with how those builds ended up. I wish they had released the Thunderstreak and the Jaguars before they went down.
  10. I do not think that has anything to with Ramadan. They would just say they do not work in Ramadan and we would respect it. But all Muslims I know work in this month. it is about fasting, not working. so it is totally irrelevant. If you were someone who had no intention of delivering a kit, would you design 15 decal options on two A4 sheets after you already cashed all the money in and then make Cartograf print them? My nose gets no bad smell at all and I take they are after their word. I would like to build the Viggen as soon as possible but after waiting all the big fish all those years in vain, there is not so much of an issue if I'll wait a few months more. At least I know someone is making it, sooner or later. Jetmads people, I hope you all get well soon and give us your lovely Viggen.
  11. They all look very similar, the Viggens, but converting a JA to an AJ may take some serious work. I'll try to sum up what I know of the differences between the two: 1-) JA is 13cm longer than the AJ. In fact, it is 16cm longer but the nose pitot tube is 3cm shorter, so 13cm in all. The mid fuselage is made 16 cm longer to accomodate the new engine, so you would have to properly cut 5mm in this scale off the mide fuselage where it meets the front fuselage. I see from this latest diagram that the formation lights do not end where the two fuselage sections meet, which means that Jetmads have done a right design. Now you would need an untrembling hand to slice it by 5mm, but even so it probably will not fit to the front section properly. 2-) AJ has different weapon systems, obviously, and has relevant controls and eqıipment in the cockpit. I measure that this is a large and visible cockpit and using the cockpit of the kit for an AJ would not be a very proper modeling. Some tiny scratchbuilding would be required. 3-) The JA has an additional actuator under the inboard elevons. But that is the easiest one to convert, you will just need to cancel it, assuming that Jetmads have not missed that actuator and its provisions. 4-) We know by previous parts images that cannon is not integral to the fuselage, which is good and may help an easier conversion. But keeping in mind that all JA's have a cannon, I wonder if the designers bothered to make any panel lines under it. So one would have to scribe all the underside panels but the problem is that they are different on AJ than JA, not only underside ones but the ones stretching to the sides of the fuselage too. 5-) Fuel tank has 3 fins on AJ, where the JA has 4. 6-) The air scoops/intakes in front of the feul tank pylon are totally different. 7-) The fin of the vertical stabilizer has to be removed. It would have been easier if it was a separate part but the diagram and the facebook photos of the part show it is one piece. Could be done, but a new cap and antenna would be needed, both to be scratchbuilt. 8-) The leading edge profile of the vertical fin is totally different and has a "tooth", with that protruding antenna stuff on the JA. It is straight on the AJ. 9-) CAD images of the kit show it is totally loaded for air-to-air missions, with all those missiles. The AJ would need a separate set of weapons and now that this is the only kit in town in this scale, I am not sure if any of the Rb-05 and the Rb-04 missiles would be available. And that for me is the showstopper, because I would not bother to build an AJ, let alone convert it, without these chunky Rb-04 anti-ship missiles. 10-) Some aditional decals will be required, but I'm assuming these could be printed. I've tried to make a short (!) list of what needs to be done and I hope this helps. Ask me how I know! That was what I had in mind when I ordered the second copy, but after some research only to figure out the list above, and if there is nothing else I miss, I thought it would be a better idea until the AJ comes as an original release. Matt
  12. I like the model and I definitely like the checquer on the tanks. A touch of red on every aircraft model makes a great visual improvement, I think
  13. I had read somewhere that the red colour was soon changed to white, to ensure better tracking of the ground cameras recording the flight. If somebody asked me which colour would be more detectable in the air, red or white, I would definitely say "red". And definitely that must be what the Douglas engineers thought, too. Interesting that white makes a better contrast than red in the sky... Anyway, it is a good thing that they have chosen red first. We now have a very spectacular red early jet in aviation history books
  14. Orange or red, I'm not sure, but it really is a great model
  15. Conversion to an AJ May not be as easy as it sounds.
  16. March update from JetMads... Deliveries to start in late May...
  17. Thumbnails are changing places between releases so they must have missed to revise it on that page after the Skystreak or the Viggen.
