  1. OK!! Just struggling with camo on a 1/32 spitfire - my cut paper card and consistant height issue (as you had) are a problem for me - when saw this - so I'm got my 1/32 spitfire camo, hurricane (for my fly) and lancaster (48 for my HKM) ones on their way!! I've repainted my spitfire back to a single upper surface twice now, not sure what to do (was going to go blue-tak - but that ever looks quite right - the curves are too hard for me)... thanks
  2. that is great. I've 2xpcm fw190s in the stash and will use your build as a reference. I've 6x other 190s/152s, and the earliest I have is a a5 - so I need to get them done.... The colors look 'natural' and feel they could be right - there was a picture here of 3xfw190 with so many variations, who knows (the wing crosses we're completely in different locations)... I love ww2 Germans, as while they had 'standards' like the English/US, but then had random stuff to add interest over the top !! (ta152 tail on d9 etc) - and it help that the fw190 is one sexy bird.
  3. Just got this from someone's 'thinning stash' craziness (why would anyone do that) - for about 1/3 price... Box a bit worse for wear, but content is perfect - Might got the the tri color and some basic weathering... as a parallel build... (which is what I've done in the past and enjoyed a lot)...
  4. Just starting the F4U in the 'in the navy' and saw this 'started' kit in my #sod.. It was actually started before I bought it, and not quite how I would have done it... but I LOVE this spitfire - I think it's the sexiest one (griffon engine, in the old school canopy) - there are no good kits for this model, so this will do. I want to finish it before I move to the F4U, so last night I check if all the parts are there (not that many, and yes, all but one part, and I can live with that!!).
  5. old topic - but late last year finished the TA-152 and the spitfire well underway. The P51 is back in box until I retire, and have infinate time... Finishing up the spitfire, then onto the Navy GB with a trump kit...
  6. OK - want an excuse to build this - I have a hellcat (trump) and 2xTamy corsairs (all already on show here), but this is stinking up my stash... I want to build it 'in flight' mode using the 'blur blades' and using the Tamiya pilot and stand. That way I don't need to worry too much about the cockpit, and tires... ;-) Also experimenting for the first time with paining masks from Montex - this is my first GB or Build on LSP - so be kind ;-)
  7. Tried to get replacement canopy from Trumpeter and Revell - we'll see if they deliver.. and I've found a good wheel well in resin (for the Trump, but should be OK). I've decided to go with the Spit, and when the canopy comes, go the 51 (not point if I can't finish it, and I'm not up to building one!! So Spit to go. More to follow...
  8. mmm - thought people would go for the P51... spent some time looking at what I've got... and couldn't find a canopy.. the windscreen is broken too. I might build anyway... The tail is going to be fun. I have both the ZM and Taymia P51, so I'll use those as preferences (tail and scribing). The wheel wells are horrid too... I've lots of random PE.... it'll be hell... so keep me honest.
  9. I've got 3 1/32 kits stuck in progress, which should I choose - I'll get to one in a week or two.. IThe mustag was bought on ebay in this state... not my work yet... a bit of work to do... The TA-152 (my fav plane of all time) is just stuck with me wanting it to be perfect... and the PCM is just waiting for it's turn... probably the easiest option.... all three have some nice 3rd party PE and the spit/51 resin (new to me).... which one village?
  10. I have both the Early and Late G-6 in 1/24 and was about to sell (infact listed on ebay) the late one... and you know... I'm going to give it a go. Got the 1/24 FW190D9 and the 1/24 Typhoon so enough for a good shelf... ... so you've inspired me to take it down, and put it in the list after the TA152 1/32, and Spit Iv 1/32 - so maybe in 6-7 months I'll post a build...
  11. My build of the Revell 1/32 beast from two years ago as inspiration (or not!!). Way fun build, and I think looks fantastic when built up (I wanna built the dragon one now). It's a bit dusty as it's out of the cabinet as I love it. Basically OOB...
