  1. How did this build turn out? I used the same fantastic PCM kit for my PR XIX but I didn't have the Alley Cat conversion.. https://flic.kr/p/GGXtL8
  2. Wow.. what an amazing project. Awesome skills. Following with interest. Have you seen the following link? It's a virtual Canberra cockpit tour. https://www.haraldjoergens.com/panoramas/canberra/files/ Mark.
  3. You could try :- http://www.relishmodels.co.uk/pacific-coast-models-1-32-spitfire-mk-xivc.html It says it will be back shortly.. Mark.
  4. Evening all. After completing PCM's fantastic Spitfire XIVc I fell in love with the kit. https://flic.kr/p/25gZ7Cy I then did another one as a PR XIX which for me was a lot of work.. https://flic.kr/p/GGXtL8 I've now decided to do another conversion. It's taken me a while to get the bits but I'm finally ready to make a start. https://flic.kr/p/24ZYgq2 Anyone guess what it will be? Wish me luck.
  5. That's a fantastic build. Not the usual stock paint scheme which is great. I bought another PCM XIV when I heard the company was closing down as it's a fantastic kit. Well done..
  6. I contacted Wonderland Models (Edinburgh), they were extremely helpful and are to order the clear spruce from the Tamiya kit. It costs £8.99..
  7. I've modified the wing before when I was making my PRXIX. The canopy is going to be the tough part. Here's hoping Tamiya will supply spares. Mark.
  8. I thought the only difference between the C wing and E wing was the weaponry load. I found thus online:- E type A new wing was introduced in early 1944 – type E. Structurally unchanged from the C wing, the outer machine gun ports were eliminated. Although the outer machine gun bays were retained, their access doors were devoid of empty shell case ports and shell deflectors. The inner gun bays allowed for two weapon fits two 20 mm Hispano Mk II cannon with 120 rounds/gun in the outer bays and two American .50 calibre M2 Browning machine guns, with 250 rounds per gun in the inner bays. Alternatively, four 20 mm Hispano cannon with 120 rounds per gun could be carried as per original C-wing production standard. The cannon in the E wing was slightly relocated, positioned further to the rear in its bay. Consequently, the protruding portion of the barrel was shorter and almost entirely enclosed by a new cigar-shaped fairing. Also, the overwing blister was more narrow and a little deeper than the corresponding feature of the C wing. Doesn't seem too complicated. Mark.
  9. The PCM XIVc will have a C wing which I will have to convert to an E wing. I think...
  10. Thanks Paul. I saw that mentioned on some other conversions but the Alley Cat site doesn't list it anymore and I can't find one for sale. Mark.
  11. Evening all. My next project is going to be a Spitfire XIVe. I'm starting with PCMs fantastic XIVc and using the Greymatter spine conversion but I'm having great difficulty in finding a good canopy. I know that Greymatter do a canopy but it doesn't look the best. My usual hours of googling has drawn a bkank. Does anyone know where I can source a good Spitfire bubbletop canopy? Thanks. Mark.
  12. That's lovely. Very well done and a total bargain..
  13. The paint in the original video gets painted on with a big brush and comes out perfect. I might just get a pot and try it out..
  14. I saw this online:- https://www.stardustcolors.co.uk/chrome-paint/1229-brush-on-chrome-chrome-paint-using-brush.html Anyone seen it or tried it? It looks amazing (watch the video).
  15. Looks fantastic. I think it's one ad the best looking fighters ever..
  16. Simply stunning with unbelievable attention to detail. Followed the build in awe. Very very well done.
