  1. Thanks. I had bought everything but the zacto for the single seat. It was around $425 for it all which if I wasn't a fan of the A-10 and A-9, I wouldn't touch it albeit the Ukrainian digital scheme is so cool.
  2. What are the tan bits at the far left?
  3. I can print out the FSM article if you like. Just PM me your address and I will send it off this weekend.
  4. I received one as well. It is quite huge. I placed it next to my three month old and it was close to the same size.
  5. Most of my life has been studying criminology. I have been exposed to almost all the theories out there. There are some studies that do show that they are correlated but they cannot prove causation. Evan at that, the actual percentage of crime that can be correlated to those conditions is often low. Simply increasing equality and decreasing the amount of poverty has also shown little if any impact on crime. Almost everything though can be explained by a person's moral compass and decision making. No amount of money or equality affects those. It is cultural and self/community learned. BTW, doing attacks on people's grammar and opinions does little in the way of winning an argument.
  6. It all boils down to how one perceives the universe. Some people believe you are a product of your environment and as such have no free will. This however does little to explain the majority that actual abide by law and contribute to society. There are others like myself who believe in free will as well as opportunism. There are two sets of people, those that weigh the need of society, the law, and what they have and those that weigh what they want with their impulsiveness. Very rarely is there a Jean Valjean anymore. I seriously doubt poverty had anything to do with this vandalism. If anything it was an opportunity by a couple of kids to have some cheap "enjoyment."
  7. Undoubtedly deserved. Your work is just stunning.
  8. After spending many years working corrections, I can say I really disagree with that statement. It is more a general idea of personal pleasure VS work required with a dash of selfishness. Most criminals do what they do because it is either a cheap thrill or they think or have seen a big return on very little effort or work. The fact that most people get probation or plead to a lesser charge only enforces this. I have seen so many educated people with decent vocation skills just say screw it.
  9. Watch Nigel's build on YouTube. He points out the good and bad. I would gladly pay another $100 to bypass the issues he has pointed out. Some of HK's kits are really nice. Don't get me wrong but they are a starting point.
  10. It appears that the cutout for the rear landing gear does not line up perfectly on my example. That is the only issue I have seen so far. It appears they have taken some thought into the overall seam of the fuselage so this may not be a big issue once the hole is properly placed and sized.
  11. I just received my HpH C-47. I wouldn't have gotten it if I hadn't gotten a good deal on it. Almost as cheap as my Catalina. I haven't had a chance to look at the box yet so no pics. I also got a Trumpeter Su-25 and Academy F/A-18D earlier this week. I really love the Ukrainian digital camo and I had to get the Hornet once I found out about Furball's sheet that has the Oceania Russian scheme.
  12. Saw another pic on line that shows a F-16 thunderchicken but I can't tell if it is the 1/32 or 1/48 kit. Judging by the size it looks like maybe the 1/32. Curious if it is a straight reissue or if it was updated if it is the 1/32.
  13. Once the package starts to leave New Zealand on its way to the US, that customs number will show up on the USPS website. There are very few packages that the USPS won't track if it has a customs number. Mine just popped up on their system today. Hopefully, within two weeks, I should have it. I would say they got bombarded and some of the larger boxes didn't make it out of the warehouse until the end.
  14. The Fokker E.III sold out early in the sale.
  15. I have several hundred kits, but I do look at it a bit different than most modelers. I do things as an investment. There has been so much stuff I have found for cheap because someone either just didn't want it anymore or they had no clue what they had. I have also bought several subjects just because I know they go up in value. About six years ago I got in a huge bind after a relationship break up. I ended up auctioning a small portion of my LeMans kits and got around $9,000. Some kits I had gotten early when the yen was low. Others I had gotten through trades. Overall I would say I made about $4,000 after accounting for what I originally spent. That's some good change. I know what some of you are thinking. That makes me a collector and I am part of the reason prices go so high. Well, I am a builder. I get every kit for the hope of eventually building it, but sometimes life as well as interests change. WnW kits have always been a good investment. Now that they are reissuing kits albeit in different schemes, the prices should come down a bit. I once saw a Albatros DV with the Bavarian markings go for almost $600 on fleaBay. Anyway, my point is pay $136ish on an AEG. Odds are it won't be issued again soon. Sure someone would pay $225-$250 or even more if you needed to sell it in a pinch.
  16. Not all kits were discounted. You may have gotten that. If you go into the shop it will show the discounted prices before it goes into the cart.
  17. Well the more you buy the more you save on shipping too. Just got some kits I don't have and some early Fokker to practice on. Hopefully the wife will not see the box. Definitely hope they are making room for new announcements. Will not mention what I spent so there is no record for the wife to see, lol.
  18. Would you rather have a new canopy? Ha, just now saw some others offer. Love this community.
  19. The price difference is probably more related to the initial work put in and not the casting material. The skin on the C-47 original is completely photoetch.
  20. Just don't tell the wife, lol. Quick question. Are the flaps down while it is parked? I can't find anything showing for sure. The ones that sit forever show they are down, but others have them up. If so, guess I will have to get the flap set. Does it appear to be worth it?
  21. I put a down payment on one from my "dealer" here. I was reluctant at first due to the issue on the F7F, but after seeing this, I am quite relieved. I know I won't get to it this year, but next year maybe. Definitely needs a nice star of David on the side.
  22. Someone a while back had asked about the IsraCast Kurnass conversion. Well, I finally had time to sit down with one and show what was included. First up is the adaptors for the Python 3 AA missiles. These are included in the current offering of the missiles. http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/isc32042.htm Next two pics feature the mount for the AIM 9 into one of the forward Sparrow sections. These are not currently available. The second pic also shows the refueling probe which is the same as the current offering. http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/isc32041.htm Next picture is of the short ALQ-119 which you can get from AMS resin albeit without decals. http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/ams32091.htm Here is a quick scan of the instructions. And finally, the included decals and reinforcement plates. Those plates would be super easy to make out of sheet plastic and a rivet punch. I hope this helps someone. I wish these were more available, but this goes to show you don't necessarily need it to make a Kurnass.
  23. Everything should be easily worth what I paid. My only concern is the handle maker as the "clamps" are directly in line with a few of the steps. I'm not sure why they decided to do that. I have the UMM one as well which is a little better but not as well constructed. I may end up getting the Micro Mark one as it accommodates for that.
