  1. Thought it may end up being a mess but all good in the end Kev. Should look pretty interesting with the rest of the scheme and markings applied. Regards.Andy
  2. Thank you, next step is to seal the effect in and finish painting and decals on the fuselage. Oh and fit the tail feathers! Regards.Andy
  3. Hi Karim and thanks for looking in. I did indeed use the Wingnuts suggested technique and it worked like a dream! I mixed 50/ 50 ratio paint to thinners and played with my airbrush settings, didn't take to long so happy days! Regards. Andy
  4. So the stipple effect has been applied now after playing around with airbrush pressure and paint thinning, thus was applied once I had sprayed a very thin brown glaze to bring together and mute the bright camo colours a little. Pretty happy with how that turned out, now to finish pairing the cowls etc and move on the decalling. Regards.Andy
  5. My LVG lower wings from my Camel Duellist set, and no damage whatsoever to any of the packaging!! Fortunately Hannants sent my out a new sprue with no issues. Regards.Andy
  6. Brilliant work and as Max and I can attest to is that the Dragon nacelles are very difficult, build from the bottom up always!! Regards. Andy
  7. Base camoflage colours sprayed on to the fuselage and centre wing section. Not sure but think I'm going to spray a very thin brown glaze over this to bring the colours together a littke more before adding the stippple pattern. Regards.Andy
  8. Couldn't agree more, I have a fair few WnW in the stash and love building them but they are nowhere near Tamiya levels of engineering and sometimes you have to wonder if the guys at WnW ever build any of their own test shots as stuff doesn't fit, overly tight etc and the latest Halberstadt sprue's have an awful lot of flash for a brand new state of the art kit . Don't get any of that with Tamiya stuff. Regards.Andy
  9. Hope all goes well Shawn and I remember and feel your pain. The final piece if the jigsaw in mine is being put in place in the next week or so with the house sale finally being finalised. Strangely for me if life is throwing crap my way I always head to the bench as I just get lost in the build and forget about what's going on in real life for a while. Looking years to seeing your G-4 back on the bench soon! Regards.Andy
  10. Hanks Gaz, It's Gumnetal.Grey from the Vallejo acrylic Metal Color range followed by a brushing with Tamiya metalics weathering pallet. Those paints are amazing and a nice range of colours. They spray beautifully from the bottle and hand paint equally as nicely over a base layer. Regards.Andy
  11. Thank you for your comments guys and some more progress made with the fuselage and cowlings all fitted and pretty close to getting some colour on. Think something went wrong while closing up as I had some slight mis-alignment issue's which reulted in a very tight fit at the front end while glueing the foward cowls on place. Looking foward to having a crack at that stipple cammo scheme now. Regards. Andy
  12. Stunning finish as always Matt. Regards. Andy
  13. Excellent work Ray, that bay looks stunning!! Regards.Andy
  14. It's in great condition and a wonderful exhibit, think I spent more time around her with the uncoming at the time HK releasethan the rest of the museum to be honest. Sounds very interesting and you are very lucky to have that log book! Regards. Andy
  15. Cool pictures Max, is the second one from the exhibit at IWM London as it looks familiar? Took loads of pictures on my visit last year! Regards.Andy
  16. Now have the cockpit completed with HGW belts and a light coat of flat varnish misted over. Also have the engine painted and complete and added to the engine bearers with the completed interior assembly now ready for fitting into the fuselage. Managed to get the fuselage halves together which is a super tight but good fit and currently drying with plenty of tape around it at the moment. Regards. Andy
  17. Looks proper nice John, very well done and like your new 109 AIMS additions!! Regards.Andy
  18. Really like what you have done there Gaz, looks fantastic. Regards. Andy
  19. Thanks for looking in Richard, I cannot agree more with you as the Halberstad is a real gem of a kit isn't it! Funnily enough when I was carefully cutting my templates out of one of your A4 sheets I was thinking that as soon as I had finished it you would come out with a cookie cut set!! However Im more than happy with templating it myself and then adding the ribtapes, slow but pleasing progress! The stippple decals sound interesting but I'm looking forward to having a crack at this and have a few ideas on this. Regards.Andy
  20. Couldn't agree more Max, lots of hard work but worth it in the end once you have worked out the conundrum of getting the SM and Co2 rack fitted. The thing that caused my motivation issues was the vac rear portion of the canopy but then I did decide to add internal framing as well which was well worth doing in the end once all the masking was off.!! Cracking work as usual Shawn and keep going. Regards. Andy
  21. Excellent progress Shawn and your definately getting there on the cockpit now. Regards. Andy
  22. Superb work John, the finish on you 109 is perfect. Tempted for some of these update parts for my 109 but got to get a couple of your Ju 88 conversions completed first. Regards.Andy
