  1. I have used Swann Morton handles and blades for over 50 years and have never had the issue that you are describing! Looking at the pictures of your blades and the handle, I would say that the two are from two different manufacturers and whilst they may ‘fit’, they are not meant for each other, with 1 or both even being Chinese copies and not manufactured to the same tolerances, hence the loose fit! The Swann Morton blades can be a bit fragile and snap when being used but the are my knife/blade of choice!
  2. I also believe that Simon Kohler (Hornby MD) is leaving!
  3. Looks great; not my subject but hope that they sell well! As for ideas of what next, anything from Airfix 1/24 range to start Typhoon and/or Hurricane first, then maybe in something for the Revell 1/32 Beaufighter and the Sea Venom FAW.22!
  4. That’ll be a set of each for me then! Oh, and that noise you can hear in the background, is my bank account groaning!
  5. Go on, tell us that the throttle quadrant actually works! Looks brilliant…
  6. Sorry, misread your post, confused cross section for cutaway, still it did start with the same letter
  7. That’s modelling in a nutshell, enthusiasm dips and wanes at which time, it’s better to move on to something different, so your work doesn’t become tedious! Sometimes I think that we forget that you are a mere mortal, unable to split yourself into many different Ali’s, things will be finished, when they are ready and not before!
  8. This build is leaving my senses befuddled and unable to express myself clearly. My smack is well and truly gobbed! No, that’s not right… My truly gob is and well smacked! That’s not right either… Gob truly is and my well smacked! One more go… Smacked and gob well my is and! I give up…. I’ll just say brilliant!
  9. Not a wine drinker, more a ale drinker myself! As usual, what needs saying, has already been said but I’ll go with ‘bloody fantastic’! As usual though, I do have a question which is from memory, the kit instructions don’t give an awful lot of information regarding the internal build, engine and landing gear mods, leaving that to the modeller to discover this information themselves, what information have you got and if drawings, are this readily available? Cheers
  10. Have you tried the following site… https://forum.dcs.world/topic/82421-cutaways There are a lot of dead links but it may give you what you’re looking for!
  11. I also do not use Facebook or any other platforms that maybe out and see no reason to start! As for missing out, it goes both ways, as whoever is producing these items and selling direct, is also missing out on potential sales! I get that setting up and running a website can be tedious, time consuming and possibly expensive but why not sign up to modelling forums and with the permission of the forum owners, advertise their items in a vendors section of the forum, assuming that the website owners are happy to agree! I realise that there maybe modellers that do not use forums as well as social media sites but would have thought that forums would catch more than just facebook et al.
  12. Surely the understatement of the year! There’s no ‘should’ look the part, they look just like the real thing
  13. Think I said in another post, that I couldn’t think of any words beyond swearing to express my view on Peters’ builds! Now, as long as you all promise me, not to connect all the capital letters, I think that I have found the words needed! Fabulous Unbelievable exCeptional remarKable Incredible outstaNding amazinG astonisHing Excellent subLime spectacuLar
  14. Thanks both, great information!
  15. That PE looks stunning, but what came first, the PE or the Airacobra? In other words, was the airframe printed to fit the PE or the PE drawn to fit the airframe? I’m aware that you need to produce dimensional drawings to create camera ready artwork, for the photo etch process (I used to used Photo Etch Consultants in another universe) but what have you used, on which to base the drawings on, official scale drawings, scaled down or drawing by eye, so that they fit and look right, if that makes sense
  16. Speechless, though I will say that I wish I had just an inch of the skill, knowledge, time and patience that you have! As Lieutenant George once said in an annoyingly loud voice “BRAVO!”.
  17. I’m another that doesn’t do Facebook, I’d also be interested to know if there is an alternative way to order! Any clues on where is the product being produced and postage costs to the UK?
  18. Life is to short to use acrylics, I’ve never been able to brush paint with them and when spraying, I have never been successful in preventing the paint from lifting, regardless of what preparation I’ve used, when removing masking materials, be that Tamiya tape, Eduard masks or Blue/White Tac (other tapes, masks or Tac are available, will an equal failure rate)! Enamels (or occasionally lacquers) all the time, as I’m convinced that acrylics are the devils own work!
  19. I personally think the F35 is better looking than the Eurofighter Typhoon, more interesting than the F-16 or F/A-18 and is fortunately not the X-32! I’d be interested in a 1:32 kit but am wary of the name Trumpeter being associated with the tooling and based on previous experience, will wait until the kit has been released, before buying one!
  20. Whilst I can appreciate the work put into this project and have no intention of belittling anybody’s work, I’m not sure that I have sufficient interest (or probably more likely, the time) in CAD to learn how to use, so that I could design and print my own kits and/or accessories but if the software were made readily available to buy, at a reasonable cost, so that it could be uploaded to a printer and printed off, without any input from this technophobe, I might be convinced! Of course, such software could already be available but such has been my lack of interest in the technology, I haven’t really looked into what is and isn’t available, but fortunately for people like me, there are far better people than I, with the urge to learn and develop the technology! Carry on Peter, your work is always a marvel and I have no doubt the P39 will be no different :notworthy:
  21. Stunning work for us mere mortals, another walk in the park from Peter!
  22. Also been following in the shadows and Blue Stuff could be of interest to this, sometimes heavy handed, modeller! Is there a limit to the number of times you can use Blue Stuff, can it be used multiple times or is it a one time use?
  23. …nope, can’t find any polite words to express how ******* insane this build is!
  24. Blimey, this build must be a real headache if it’s caused you to take 2 holidays
