  1. Nice one Rich, Max is spot on sometimes AM is not necessary. Yahu is also my go to IP supplier, I have just got a nice delivery from Mr Hannants of 5 Yahu pieces of kit for future projects. It's great that your dental P47 is still with you, pretty amazing. Cheers Dennis
  2. I always have some on my birthday and Christmas "wish list" so far I have 11 of them on the shelf above my head. The Hurricane one was especially helpful when I was building my PCM fabric wing Hurricane. Cheers Dennis
  3. Hi Max, I had to shorten the tail wheel on mine, I very roughly did this against a scale drawing. Cheers Dennis
  4. The other problem I have with EV's is battery degradation over the years, would you trust a second or third hand EV, I would be very dubiuous. As to hydrogen I have worked with hydrogen for nearly 40 years on oil refineries and commisioned a new HMU at my last refinery. Hydrogen has to be treated with respect it is dangerous, hydrogen atoms are small and will leak through metal walls in pipe lines, also the metal walls can become brittle. The explosive range for hydrogen is very wide, the lower explosive limit (LEL) for H2 is 4% in air and the upper limit (UEL) is 77%, for petrol (gasoline) the figures are 1.4 to 7.6% quite a difference. Cheers Dennis
  5. Looking every inch a Hurricane, nearly there now. Cheers Dennis
  6. Nasty stuff Mike, I have spent my time in A&E and it's not much of a rewarding experience. Get well soon. Cheers Dennis
  7. Happy birthday and best wished from me. Cheers Dennis
  8. Thank you Troy, the old PCM's do scrub up good with a little (lot) TLC, I have just washed all the parts for the C200 in warm soapy water as my next victim. Cheers Dennis
  9. Nice precision modelling. Cheers Dennis
  10. Love the comparison with the photo, looking good. Cheers Dennis
  11. Now that looks amazing, I can understand why you want a break ! Cheers Dennis
  12. Thank you Alain it is a very nice looking aircraft and I am pleased with the result. Cheers Dennis
  13. Thank you Matt, it's a pity PCM did not stick around and continue with their varied and unusual choice of subjects with a more modern standard of manufacture. Cheers Dennis
  14. I too like Spitfires so I will pop in now and again to see your progress. Cheers Dennis
  15. One of my favourite subjects, despite it's faults and my mistakes it did come out well in the end. I will be interested to see your build of a very forgotten subject. Cheers Dennis
  16. That looks great, I would be really pleased if mine came out half as nice. Cheers Dennis
  17. That is looking really great, keep it up. Cheers Dennis
  18. I've been reading on a bit since I replied to this thread and this is the result of my deep thoughts. In my reply I did not mention tools, the progress in this area is quite extensive. So here is the ramblings. Sanding sticks and micro mesh rather than using wet and dry from the garage. Tamiya tape instead of decorating masking tape. Blu Tac sausages. Mini clamps for holding parts while they get painted. Bigger clamps for stubborn jobs. Lots are different types of modelling blades, blunt blades being binned rather than persevered with. Micro saws instead of hacking away with the afore mentioned blunt blades. Scribing tools and templates, game changers with old Revell kits. Using reference books instead of relying on kit instructions. CA and other types of adhesives, it's rare for me to use polystyrene cement nowadays. Modelling putty has been replaced with CA, Mr Surfacer and for big gaps plastic strips. Klear for those nice shiny clear parts. Airbrush replaced my dodgy brush painting, Air compressor, a great improvement on canned air. Pippettes to accurately measure paint so the mix is repeatable. Pin vice and micro drills instead of boring holes with a #11 blade. Tweezers certainly help my sausage fingers hold small parts. Aftermarket stuff especially decals Decal solutions such as set and sol, though I'm still rubbish with decals. Paint masks instead of decals see above. Proper modelling mats instead of dining room place mats. With declining vision, magnifying lamps and Optivisor assistance. Recently a Christmas present of a building stand, how did I manage without one I now wonder. I was quite happy using bog rolls, thick books and other dodgy stuff. The other huge difference to my modelling is this thing that I am typing on, a PC and the internet. All these wonderful modelling websites packed with friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people. And the ability to order essential modelling stuff online. Cheers Dennis
  19. Nice one, hope mine turns out as nice. Cheers Dennis
