Romanian I -16 Type 29 Rata

Hi all,

 

I will join the group with a small project, a model for the Special Hobby. That will be modified to look like an I-16 Type 29.

 

The first Russian aircraft, I -16 Type 29 "Rata", captured by the Romanian Royal Air Force in WWII.

I started with the most important part of this project. The front of the engine, which is different from type 24. It came out unexpectedly well and now looks like type 29.

 

 

The next step was to change the lower engine hood.

 

 

 The cockpit side walls are resin.

 

 

 

On the right side I added a fuselage compartment cover.

I love both this little chubby bird and roumanian markings. Certainly the most colorful crosses.
